There's always ifs and buts a plenty. But if only we'd beaten Burnley at our place. We'd be level on points if it stayed like this
Brady might find himself on another relegation team. He's become a bit of an albatross...three Prem relegations if Burnley go down.
BBC Website 85 mins Burnley 0-2 Manchester United The shadows are creeping further across the ground as the time ticks down. United keep Burnley at arm's length, Eric Bailly harrying anyone that goes near the visitors' box. On the subject of Burnley being five points above the drop zone, they go to Crystal Palace next weekend. That is a pity, they can't both lose unfortunately.
It's tough to know what to want - the head says draw so only 2 points are awarded but a point each might be significant come the end of the season.
That is why I bemoaned the fact they can't both get zero points. Palace play Spurs at home on Weds, so maybe we should let Burnley beat Palace and escape.
Palace will hopefully be safe by the time we play them, giving them nothing to play for. Burnley and perhaps Bournemouth (although their run in is rather easy) are the ones we need to drag down. Maybe Leicester, but probably not.
Im hoping Burnley beat Palace... that'll drop them right in the **** with their remaining fixtures.. especially if we can beat them!
Look at Palace's fixtures. They lose to Spurs and Burnley in the next week and we beat them too, they'll be in it up to their necks. Edit: and of course Palace are playing at Anfield right now.
Love to be wrong but I can’t see Burnley dropping in. Looking at Burnley’s final four games, they have WBA and WHU at home which will surely yield at least 2 pts (38 pts and their GD should be enough). Both WBA and WHU won’t give a **** and will likely bottle it at Turf Moor. It’s also a boon for Swansea having WBA on the last day. They are one of the most overrated teams in the division and, in my opinion, are in a false position. They're organised, conservative and hard working (up until 40pts is reached that is) but little else. Silva would have done them, I'm sure. They also have a bit of a past rep for losing to our relegation rivals over the years (remember them losing at home to QPR and Leicester near the end of 2014/15).
