That's a bit of an exaggeration. Ferdinand jumps, Carroll puts a hand on his arse (or thereabouts) and Ferdinand falls. Although if it was a penalty, that was a foul. Both similar amounts of contact.
Cheers mate read that bit. Tried it earlier and I got the service not available sign. I've set it to change channels at 12 anyway.
I think they show the full matches on sky sports 1 at 10.15. Our game is on 'screen 5' in the multiscreen section apparently.
You should look at that incident again. The ball had already gone over Fredinand's head before Carroll made any contact with him whatsoever.
I'd only seen it the once when it was replayed on football first on sky. Having seen it on MotD again, I noticed that Carroll doesn't even jump, and Ferdinand wouldn't have got the ball even if the (minimal) contact wasn't made. If anything, Ferdinand's momentum is taking him forwards and Carroll's arms just goes with it. He's felt something touching his back and landed in a heap. Dowd was, as usual, 50 yards away from play, and the linesman can't have actually seen it because Carroll's back was to the touchline, thus blocking the contact from view. They've seen Ferdinand go down and played it safe by awarding a free kick. God knows how Dowd passes the fitness tests to be a PL referee.
Carroll was preparing to outjump Ferdinand. Then he realised that the flight of the ball was such that he did not need to jump. However his momentum would have taken him into the back of Ferdinand. So his hand was used for self -preservation and not to foul Ferdinand who had already missed the ball!
Ferdinand misjudged the flight of the ball and used his 'experience' to hit the deck when he felt carroll's hand on his back. Lots of defenders do it every season, including your own, so as they say these things 'balance out' over the course of the season.
Certainly and I totally agree with you. Doesn't mean that it wasn't a legitimate goal though. Anyway. good luck for the rest of the season.
There's a big difference pal. You are full of ****e and can't recognise when other people are talking sense. So that makes YOU a blithering idiot
It was certainly a legit goal, but the ref got conned like every ref does throughout the season. As we all know, Manure are masters at it Good luck to you guys too
I've seen it about a dozen times now. Carroll doesn't jump, and Ferdinand isn't getting the ball regardless of the contact. This isn't bias, this is what happened. I will say that Carragher should've gone for his high tackle on Gyan, so my red spectacles are not currently resting on my nose.
