According to SSN, They're saying he's leaving Burnley at the end of the season, Where do you think he'll go this summer then ?
Spurs were being linked with him yesterday. Depends what kind of a person he is...fancies ruining his career, he could always join chelsea/City.
I'd love him down here. Ship probably sailed though n he'll be off to a bigger side. Wouldn't mind Maguire from Hull either.
He wont get game time straight away, i agree..Toby Aldeirwereld hasnt signed a contract renewal...i think the papers have put 2 and 2 together. His contract does not end till 2020 anyway...i think he is just waiting to see how the season pans out...a good finish strengthens his bargaining hand. Everton would be a solid club for Keane.
Isn't their rumours of a buy out clause for Toby in region of £25m? Could see him going if that's the case... absolute bargain for who in my opinion is the best cb in the league.
Would happily take him, Maguire or Gibson to Watford but all 3 will be going somewhere much bugger, for a lot of money! Keane probably to Man Utd so they can spend big on bringing back another of their ex-players...
£23.5 mill if im not mistaken...however it only comes into affect in the last season of his contract which is running until 2020. Levy rarely puts buy out clauses in, so not sure on the authenticity of that clause. I reckon TA is going nowhere and is waiting to increase his wages according to how we are doing. If we win something, he will demand a bigger wage...cant begrudge him...id make him one of our top earners...what a baller.
Would love us to go back in for him but I strongly think we missed the boat as much to do with his own rise in stock than us underachieving. I'd still like us to try and you don't ask you don't get. Whether his enjoyable time on loan (under Shakespeare and Pearson) or the fact we were the only ones interested last summer will make a difference I don't know. I guess probably Man U or if not one of the top top sides, Everton
We made a move for him last summer but were rebuffed. I'd be amazed if we weren't right at the front of the queue come the summer.
Or Arsenal. Then he could go out on loan to Middlesborough. A quick glance at the old bank balance seems to take the sting out of not playing though.
Ah I didn't know I thought it was just us. I bet that's Walsh's influence. Don't underestimate how important that man is to you, he is more responsible for where we are now than any other individual. I think had we done even a bit better domestically this season we'd be able to compete with yourselves but I think you will edge us now
I think all the top 6-8 sides will be looking at Keane. Similar to what Kev said, Gibson and Maguire will also make for good signings this summer. I'd have any one of them three at Spurs if Wimmer leaves - he's a top CB as well for what it's worth, just been unlucky in that Dier, Alderweireld and Vertonghen are better.
He'll end up at Everton, it's the perfect club for him and they need a young CB. I'd have him over the road though
Who is going to offer the right combo of salary + career progression (game time etc) to make the boy happy ?? Spurs ?? Currently fully stocked with specialist / backup / Academy CBs. I think one of the Mersey sides could be a good bet.
Everton have Williams and Jagelka. Both old dogs that need replacing. My money's on the tight wads spending on him
Too bloody well right you have! Going to Leicester would be a massive retrograde step for him. He'll want to advance his career to the next level, not move to a club where he'll always be looking over his shoulder at relegation! I don't think I'm being overly harsh with my analysis.
