Yeah...... Spurs have had a shed load of penalties and Vardy doesn't generally take ours anyway .

I think Vardy's on 11 in the league now with most of them coming in recent weeks. Probably a long shot for him to ge 9 in the remaining games mind but on current form you just never know.... then he'd be on 2 himself

... the fourth at something? .... that sounds more of a Gooner's measure of "success" <laugh> ...

Irrespective, it doesnt' quite stack up with having won the title, holding the all time record for goals scored in consecutive Premier League games, being voted the Football Writers Footballer Of The Year or voted the Premier League Player Of The Season - which are all Number Ones ... but it's still a fine acheivement <ok>

Personally think Vardy would score more than Kane in Spurs' side.

Players like Alli, Erikssen and Son would score more with Vardy in the team, that's for sure.

It's wholly consistent Quentin ... read this slowly ... there are certain posts that I don't have any interest in - irrespective of who has posted them ...ergo the post and not the poster <doh>

I think there needs to be some consistency on whether the premier league era is used as a marker. When Vardy broke the record there was quite a lot of bitterness (not on here and not even from Spurs fans, just generally) that football didn't start in 1992 etc. However Kane fine achievement of consecutive scoring seasons is also a premier league era think so is no more relevant that Vardy's record. In fact as Vardy stands alone with that one it is quite incredible tbh.
Both are brilliant forwards, Vardy quite clearly edges it on achievements to date, that's not even up for debate. Kane quite clearly has age on his side. Who knows if he'll go on to get the same achievements and accolades

I'm also extending the concrete base that we have the shed on - unfortunately it's right at the top of the garden so I'm having to lug bags of ready-mixed up there ... which is fine exercise <wah>

Nevertheless, it's a great achievement, and I was answering the problem.

The only other players to achieve what Kane has done are Thierry Henry, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, and Alan Shearer. In other words, Henry was the last PL player to achieve this in 2005/06.

Not bad as he's still only 23! <ok>

Vardy's record is not the all time for the top division - he fell one short as I recalll - but that particular record was set in the days where the scorelines were often very generous due to the nature of the game and overall fitness levels etc ... what is worth remembering is that the previous Prem record held by Ruud van Nistelrooy actually fell into two seperate seasons i.e spanning the summer break - which makes Vardy's record all the more remarkable <ok>

  13. No, not that many.

And, in any event, he has to score the penalty. It isn't nailed on that he'll score!
    <doh>

You really know so little about footy, Buzzy.

So it's not a benefit to his goal scoring tally that he takes them? That was more Micks point I believe. It's a penalty for a reason, it gives the attacking side a golden chance to score

Agree. With a fast striker pulling defenders out of position, Spurs would be very dangerous

Is Vardy vs Kane the new Gerrard Vs Lampard? <laugh>

I prefer Kane myself. He never downed tools and got his manager sacked.

Is HIAG still pretending he and saints aren't the same person?

Nice try Quentin ... but this a thread about my team and therefore a subject matter that I am far better qualified to comment on than you and your sock .... as to the most tedious thread constipating cnut on here ... that's one title you hold exclusively - albeit through different personas <laugh> ..

It's a free shot against a static keeper you daft twat <doh> a professional footballer would be expected to score more often than not in that scenario ... particularly if the taker is a striker .... it's therefore far easier to score your goals from the penalty spot than from open play - which is the real point being made by Mick... you really don't know much about football do you Quentin? <laugh>
