who thought that Suarez dived, or at the very least made a meal out of it? He through himself through the air after very little contact. Dreadful penalty by the way. Don't get me wrong he is a good player but nowhere near as good as the scousers would have you believe.
He didn't dive you fool, he would of scored if he hadn't got fouled. Anyway Berb whats the point of opening a thread thats been discussed to death on this forum?
Sorry I hadn't seen any other articles about Suarez diving/making a meal out of it (probably because there aren't any). There was contact but he threw himself through the air too. I've seen Man Utd players doing similar in the past, when there's been a small amount of contact, and they get slated by rival fans who overlook that they were actually fouled.
It was a foul and so yes it should have been a red card, but Suarez went over like it was a full on push rather than a nick.
You mean like the Berbatov incident? That penalty caused an uproar. What I found amusing about the Liverpool game today was the amount of coverage MOTD gave to Carragher's dangerous challenge, they spoke in depth about how Richardson could/should of walked, but that high, studs first challenge never even got broadcast.
Harsh really. He did knock the defender off balance but I think 7/8 times out of 10 the referee would have let it stand.
Suarez definitely made the most of it. Nice to see him waving the imaginary card again, classy. And who says he would have scored had he not been fouled, he had a free shot, centrally, 12 yards out and sent it into orbit. Carroll was shocking all game, "Raw" is the best thing to describe him, very "Raw", as for the disallowed goal, Ferdinand would have got something on it had he not been pushed while in the air so rightly disallowed. Carragher should have seen red, going in studs first, that high, is never justified. Although he does have form, i.e. Nani at Anfield last year. Henderson was ****e, how any scouser can mock Anderson, Carrick or Fletcher when they have him in their ranks I don't know. Downing disappeared in the second half, as did most of their team. Suarez steadily became less "world-class" until he was pulled off. Over 100m spent and they only play for 45 mins.......shocking. However, Wes Brown was a beast today. Bossed it, can see him being captain soon, and deservedly so.
I actually think O'Shea will be captain before too long, hes the more vocal of them both, but Brown was a rock today and will get better if he can keep fit and play consistantly.
I thought O'Shea already was, and yeah your probably right, Wes isn't the most vocal. Might grow into the role now he's seen as a more influential, experienced player though.
First glance he looks like he dives, then in the replay, you can see he does what every other player does, he fall easily, when Richards touches him.
What about Suarez's handball when Richardson initially cleared it.................? Mandy the Tramp had a shocker..............'wee Kenneth' has a lot of work to do!!!!
