When talking about how clinical a striker is then surely all strikers shots should count? Not just the better ones.

Otherwise you could have a striker who scored 5 penalties which were his only shots on target and have about 50 off target... would you claim they have a 100% strike rate because all his shots on target went in?

I think he was trying to use an extremely selective stat to try and enforce what he was trying to say. It has gone badly wrong, however

 

Kane has scored at a better rate than Suarez in their Premier League stints .... this fact goes a long way with me .

If it makes you feel better. Kane has a worse ratio than Vardy.

 

Suarez assisted a hell of a lot more than Kane does.

 

Kane is a very good striker. Suarez is world class - probably in the top 3-4 players in the game.

Players like Suarez come along once a decade, or so.

Suarez was the best attacker this league has seen since Ronaldo and prior to that Henry.
