As this is a competition organised by the East Riding Amateur Football Association why are they not picking up the tab ? They are sat on a small fortune and don't have much else to spend their cash on.
Tradition? What do other clubs charge for these finals? Brid Town are playing a final at Sheffield United, which I think is something to do with the Hallam FA. Wonder if there is going on there?
They say they can't afford it, and as they're unbiased I'd believe them. It's really bizarre how you continually try to find ways to defend the Allams when there are none.
From the NCEL website: 14th March, 2017 Venue announced for League Cup Final The management board of the Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League is proud to announce that this season's League Cup Final will be played at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane ground. It will take place on Wednesday 17th May, 2017, with a 7.30pm kick-off. The board would like to publicly thank Sheffield United for their support in allowing the final to be played at their ground. Full details will be issued at a later date when the finalists are known and the two clubs will be required to attend a meeting with a representative of Sheffield United to discuss and confirm all arrangements and requirements for the game.
Sheff Utd are getting larger crowds in the third division than we are in the PL. Could the relations between the respective owners of the clubs with their fans and the wider community be a factor I wonder?
And as the SMC statement says they do not make or look to make a profit on staging this Final. The costs are what they are. And I believe the statement to be true. There is obviously more to this then we are led to believe and it might be useful for all concerned if the reasons for this were looked into. Or we could just build the gallows and look for someone to string up from them, without knowing the facts.
I'm sure it was stopped been played at the kc for awhile years ago. Think Dutch put the same. It was, 99% certain, played at ferriby 6 or 7 years ago.
Facts are hugely inconvenient when you have an axe to grind. Doesn't matter the source. All that matters is it fits the agenda. Time and time again we've seen really quite nasty accusations flung around, which turned out a load of bollocks. A shrug and *well it wouldn't surprise me*, then onto the next bit of made up ****e to get all het up about. Sad but funny thing is, those cockwombles have diluted and diminished their message.
Curtis Woodhouse has just tweeted that an anonymous donor came up with the cash required to allow the cup final to be played at the KCOM, but it's been rejected by the SMC. He's just been interviewed by the HDM, so I assume there'll be something up on there shortly.
Don't know about that far back but in last 4 years it was, I think, played at the KC 3 times and once at the Roy West Centre. Only know because of the involvement of Brid Town.
I doubt if the costs of staging it have ever been recovered down the years. I doubt they are elsewhere, Bramall Lane for example. But the Allams don't think of things like goodwill and receiving favourable publicity. Doubly ironic when a community statement can't be used for game involving a team from Hull but a privately owned one will have Bridlington Town playing in a final in Sheffield but not one in Hull.
SMC reject donor's offer to fund grassroots cup final at KCOM Stadium in Hull http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/smc-...0281037-detail/story.html#g9IakRyb0ptKwtcF.99
The kcom was for hire the ercfa didn't want to pay the hire fee. Don Robbie said the club needs to be run as a business. Pearson said the same. The Allams really mean it. Why didn't the ercfa complain about the council pulling the funding? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/how-much-your-premier-league-7686973
Sunderland and Newcastle can hire out of 50k capacity stadiums for £1,500, but it costs us over £5k? Another monumental PR ****-up by those in charge, they should run courses on how not to promote a business and how to alienate all your customers.
Let's face it half of this is about Ashbee and wood house getting publicity to climb higher in management.
It's not, it's about our owners behaving like dicks whenever they get the opportunity. I can't believe anyone still defends them over this sort of nonsense.
They shouldn't baulk at subsidising the fixture. My opinion obviously. Doing what is morally right for him (****er).
And Middlesbrough and Sheffield United manage as well. Maybe stewards cost a fortune in Hull compared to those places and they have cheaper electricity costs?
