Superb effort by Leicester. The Premier League this season has resumed, as per normal, with Leicester barely getting a mention from the pundits, but they've done brilliantly in the CL. The last English club in the competition, let's not forget. And look at their form of late. That's top 4-6 stuff. There's a core and a style in there that they need to keep going while they are building the club. As they've just said on the radio, hold your heads up high Leicester City, you've been a damn sight better than all the English glamour clubs. And a guide and lesson for other non-glamour English clubs.

They exceeded expectations in this season's competition. They are a good mid table PL team at this stage in their cycle. So are we!!

Only about 2 yards offside. How could the lino not see that?

Ronaldo gets his hat trick, that one was OK. Brilliant from Marcelo.

So basically what we're seeing is a club the size of Bayern Munich can't get a fair decision in Spain, yes.? What chance did PSG have.?

Not given up, just exhausted from trying to score and being hit on the counter again and again. This is when the extra man pays dividends.

Pat Nevin on Radio 5 making the point that arguably the second biggest football competition after the World Cup is being decided by duff officials decisions. He's right too.

    VAR can't come quickly enough.

I wouldn't say the EFL Cup was the second biggest football competition after the World Cup! <laugh>

Seriously, he's got a fair point.

To be clear, he said that the Champions League was arguably the biggest football competition after the World Cup. Don't know where your head is with the EFL.???

Real win. Not a bad night for Madrid. Sad to see the last of Philip Lahm and Xabi Alonso in European football though.

The EFL Cup this season meant a bit more to me, and other Saints fans than the Champions League, and we were robbed by a blind linesman.

I did put a <laugh> which traditionally signifies a joke.

    Seconded.

2 of the best worldwide in their position for more than a decade.

    Brilliant footballers.

Pat Nevin again talking about the debate over VAR. He said that he wanted VAR way back when he was playing. To which Mark Pougach said something to the effect that that wasn't possible.

Oh yes it was.! It would have been a lot more expensive though, that would have been the problem. The richness of football and the cheapness of technology have come to a head now.
