Crystal ball talk valley ... Siggy has more open play goals in less games on the outside than he has in the center . And with only 5 games remaining , Fer still has more open play goals than Siggy . I really like Siggy , a lot , but to many put him on to high of a pedestal .... I think Clement lkikes to use Fer in the center for his aerial presence , he's stronger and he has a better passing %. But that's just why I think Fer plays in the middle and Siggy plays on the outside

****ing hell Roof, what is it with you and this bollocks about Fer being a superior player to Gylfi? Are you his agent? Fer is absolute crap and not on Gylfi's level, there's a reason Fer ALWAYS ends up at relegated clubs, that's how poor he is.
Fer is a £3-£5m player, tops. Gylfi is a £25-£35m player.

Stick Fer in the middle, and Joe will run rings around him, like he did at the Britannia <laugh>

Just trying to have a reasonable conversation on " Why Siggy plays on the outside " seeing you brought it up . And I always manage to do that without trying to belittle our players and managers ... unlike some . One things for sure , if we get relegated , I expect we won't get 25 million for Siggy . Walk past the stats all you want , facts are facts . Allen only has as many goals as Fer , and how much did you want to pay for 2 goal , 700 minute Bony . Your Crystal ball does tend to have a crack or two in it at times :)

Will have to disagree. Siggy makes and creates far more danger in the middle than the wing. When he's on the wing you lack the width on that side.

You only need to see what playing him on the wing did to him at Spurs.

Whilst siggy hasn't scored as many as you would have liked this year, he's still your most creative player. As for Fer (not that i've been keeping count) but haven't most of his goals come from crosses from free kicks/corners. Hardly indicative of his scoring qualities from a central midfield role

An attacking midfielder should be good in the air , strong passer and a good nose for where to be in scoring a goal . I think Fer has all those attributes . Would I rather play Siggy in the middle , absolutely , just not at the expense of Fer on the bench . Fer is a terrible defensive midfielder and Siggy can play out wide . I think if you asked Clement , these are the reasons he plays Fer and Siggy in the positions he does .. just a guess and my opinion .

now that is a very good argument. If you had said this in the first place i dont think anyone would have disagreed so vehemently. Whilst some won't like that combo theres a reason behind it rather than outright saying sigi is better on the wing than in the middle :emoticon-0148-yes:

Here's another fact, Joe Allen is superior to every CM/DCM player we have too. Fer isn't good enough to lace Joe's boots.

So you'd rather play Gylfi in the midfle but not at the expense of Fer? Confirmation that he thinks Fer is better than Gylfi in Gylfis best position.

Gylfi cannot play out wide, he's ineffective and not involved in the game, something it would seem, that only you, and the 3 twats we've employed as managers this season cannot see.

Gylfi is our ball player/creator - he should be on the ball as much as possible.

Personally, I'm with Valley on this. We need to get goals & Siggy is more likely to score when playing in the middle. Additionally, most of his assists have come from playing there - not on the left.

    I'd go with

    Fabianski
    Naughton Fernandez Mawson Olsson
    Routledge Cork Fer Carroll
    Gylfi
    Llorente

Routs would be in for his better defensive capabilities than Narsingh

Carroll linked up nicely with Olsson when they both first arrived. He has a tidy left peg - so I'd play him on the left of midfield.

Narsingh, Baston & Montero to be the impact "finishers"

Is Kenji back with us now? I'd rather him on the bench instead of Montero tbh. Don't forget Ayew too.

I'm not a big fan of Ayew.

If the sun is shining, and he's got a tired right back in front of him, it might - just might - get Monty's interest......

Conformation that you can't fukin read you mean . I would rather play Siggy in middle ... BUT ... not at the expense of Fer on the bench . We have little attack and we need Fer part of it . Fer can't play wide , Siggy can ... he's scored more open play goals out wide in less games than he has in the middle in more games . Now read what I said twice before coming back to tell me what I said .
I've never said Siggy is better out wide than in the middle .
I think most of Siggy's assists have come from corners and free kicks , people who take corners and free kicks generally get most of their assists from there
