    What a dishonest, flip-flopping bullshitter.
Remain to Leave, no election to a snap one.
Typical of her opportunistic power grabbing.

    Brave?? How's that work then??

She calling the election as she figures, quite rightly, that there is no effective opposition. Nothing brave about that! It's just cynical opportunism.

What's she's really angling for is what she'll call a mandate for her version of Brexit. Gambling that even those who don't agree with the way she's going about Brexit will still vote for her rather than a Labour Party led by Corbyn.

Add to that how she said in her speech that Britait is divisive...a few days after saying in her Easter speech (which, by the way, failed to mention Easter...) that the country was more united than ever. But is this being mentioned, or any of the other multiple double standards May is guilty of? Of course not, journalism is difficult...

There's already parallels being drawn with Erdogan's referendum result: exploiting a highly-divided country to give yourself whichever powers you feel like having that day by playing to your heartlands and keeping your fingers crossed - with a little electoral fraud to get your across the line.

She's a politician. And a politician with ambitions above her capabilities.

    So, that's yes!,..

Funnily enough, the Crown Prosecution Service may have a few things to say about the party she's a member of being trustworthy - but that bad news has been conveniently buried by something or other...

Not in Scotland, while the Northern Irish with the Unionists having split from the Tories, will not have one Tory MP, which is good.

Calling an election to cover up the election fraud from the last one? Surely not!
Don't worry, I'm sure that all the major media outlets will lead with that.

As was asked in the Grauniad's comments section, "Can a party which is being investigated for electoral fraud call another election before the case is concluded?"

...other than the one in Zimbabwe, obviously.

    Trump's foreign policy:

Big bomb go boom, people get bwowed up. Bomb big, people who dwopped bomb good. Wiwy good. People who got bwoed up bad. Vewy bad.

Which, of course, continues the foreign policy of Obama, which continued the foreign policy of the original policy murderous moron, W.

Being mass murdering numbskulls suits our worst enemies perfectly, of course. It recruits, arms and trains them. I can't work out whether people don't know that or don't care.

    The Selfservatives have no shame.
They can change their opinions/policies/promises whenever it suits.
They cannot seemingly be held to account for anything to do.
Since MPs started getting well paid for the job, could claim expenses and hold other positions for financial gain solely due to their political status and influence, without any proper scrutiny, the job has just attracted career politicians.
So the result is that they will do whatever keeps the gravy train running for them.

So after calling a snap General Election, Theresa May then announces she will not take part in any televised debates.

Suffice to say a few people had something to say on the matter...

She has nothing to gain from TV debates, she could only lose credibility. Remember she has got this far by effectively not doing anything. This is not surprising.

Yeah, somehow in my memory of Trump's announcement of the bombing, he morphed into Elmer Fudd. I can't understand it, as Elmer Fudd has demonstrated both a grain of compassion and a conscience from time to time, and generally has a penchant for truth. The Looney Tunes theme song would certainly be more appropriate for Trump's entrances than "Hail to the Chief."

The media should be up in arms about this, of course. They won't be, but they should.
