Alot of people critisizing Ba, but I think he woked a damn side harder than Shola. At least he tried to make runs forward, every time Shola got the ball he ran to the first defender and threw himself to the floor. I think someone playing the role Ben Arfa will play, was the big miss today. Cabaye and Tiote were very defensive first half, so we had no link up player. Hence why Cabaye moved forwrd a little in the second half.

Gutierrez I think will suffer due to the loss of Enrique, looking forward to seeing Marveaux there though. Obertan also had a good workrate.

Not to mention it's Ba's first competitive game with us, takes time to gel.

To be fair Song could have been off in the first half for persistent fouling.

For a right midfielder playing left back, thought Ryan Taylor was excellent today. @nufcfans #NUFC

In Raylor's defence, I thought he improved as the game wore on. Not to say I EVER want to see him at LB again, but I thought he at least learned from his mistakes early on and adapted to play. Besides, it's good he didn't do a capable job, because we'd have hated for someone to get an idea we didn't need a proper LB asap.

Right. So do you also want Alex Song to leave your club for his actions in todays game?

Couldn't be further from the truth. Yes he has done wrong consistently throughout his career, but he has paid the full price for it and is CONSTANTLY getting slated by the media for doing things that if done by any player other than Barton would go completely unnoticed.

Can't say he doesn't deserve it mind after all he's done though.

Signing off now and looking forward to Song's impending 3 match ban. Peace.

All i can say is i had a great day in Newcastle.Went to the Black Bull for a few beers before the game. It's nice to go in a pub before a game which is full of both sets of fans who just want to talk football and have a bit of fun a banter<ok>.I had an attack of vertigo up in the away end though :(
From the away end it was difficult to see the Gervinho/Barton incident.I thought overall we were the better team but lacked a cutting edge

Coloccini is our captain, not Stevie Taylor. Although it would be easy to mistake them as they both made light work of Van Persie today ;)

Was impressed by Pardew's interview, I liked that he called up the interviewer on putting a negative spin on everything. I think Barton was a total idiot for grabbing Gervinho up, I'd probably have sent them both off. The slap and the stamp however, were obvious reds and I was pretty disgusted at Arsenal all match, their poor tackling and diving was pathetic and how any of their fans have been on here having a go at us for supporting our supposed 'band of thugs' I have no idea.

What the hell, I have to agree with that bloke like, I was very impressed with Raylor at left back. Sure he's no Jose but ****s sake he did well.

Stamp was a ****ing joke, as was the dive by Gervinho ("Same old Arsenal... Always Cheating!!"). Just needed Wilshire on the pitch to be an absoloute vagina as well and that would have capped it off - just seen his twitter comments as well he is such a pissy little **** it's beyond belief winds me up something rotten.

Really impressed with Raylor (as said above), Obertan when he came on (**** me he's quick, was it Sanga he did in a sprint from past half way line to by line?), Shola which is weird since I'm one of his biggest critics but his hold up play was immense, and a few others.

However I agree with the section of your post below this one on Raylor.

Harsh on Raylor for me. I thought he did well against a very testing opponent who will be excellent for Arsenal. Not a left back afterall. Back 4 did well. Midfield did ok but they had the problem of getting the ball first and foremost against Arsenal, then keeping it when you have two clowns up front who can't play football. Tiote tired as you'd expect after his travels, Cabaye got better as the game went on and he found the pace of the game. Barton was outstanding bar the working his ticket. Jonas did well going back over but we struggled to really get him going the other way. Great team ethic from him. Top two couldn't trap a bag of cement and are beyond lazy.

Stamp - not a big deal and not even a stamp, he just stood on his calf. Barton made the most of it. Not dangerous, just a bit of gamesmanship. It hurts but not much and is quite common on the pitch. If seen you're off but they sorted it out on the pitch and I'm not bothered what happens now. Of course if it was Barton we'd be talking prison! Ref got the Gervino stuff spot on but Barton needs to just calm a little. Players will dive and you can't go picking them up like that.

Obertan was a positive for me. He got a bit carried away but him and Jonas give us real options away from home in terms of counter attack football.
Good point. Think we've met them at the right time as they'll get stronger so the point may look even better in time.
