    Not worried that it might all become about him and put some pressure on Conte to play him so fans can say goodbye? Not that he'll mind I'm sure, seems the type to want to make things all about him.

    Could have easily not said anything then if you had title won in final few games announce it and give him good send off.

    Just seems like he's announced it now to get all the attention in case Chelsea win the title and he announces t after and it doesn't get any because everyone still celebrating the win.

    Not at all. Regardless of when he announced it i think it would all be about him as i think he is bigger news (not that I'm a massive fan of his) than us winning a league. Hes been a fabric of our team and is bigger than imo another pl win (since we have had a few and even one a few years ago). He knows conte wont play him, conte hasnt picked him all year and terry hasnt moaned at all. He knows conte is the boss

    No player is bigger than any club or PL trophy. He's clearly a Chelsea legend but I'd rather Liverpool win the PL than Gerrard stay another year for example.

    I didnt say terry was bigger than the club. If he was he would be playing which is what you guys did when you tried to shoehorn gerrard in. I do believe that terry leaving is bigger news though and in an effort to win him a trophy that is why the news came out. It would be big news either way especially to the hardcore chelsea fans so i dont think this was an ego trip

    You said terry leaving is bigger than the club winning a PL title?

    No reason could have announced it in house of wanted to use it as motivation for the other players but to be honest I can't imagine it'll make an ounce of difference to Chelsea players in terms of extra motivation to win the league. They'll want to win it for themselves more than winning it for anyone else first, especially as it's not like Terry hasn't won title already in his career.

    You need to re-read what i wrote then. I said it i think it was bigger news than us winning another pl (conjecture as there wont be an actual measure and also he cant announce his retirement again).

    I didn't think it would add much extra motivation but maybe they thought it would. Basically i don't think its about his ego which as i think his retirement is newsworthy enough whilst you think otherwise
