There are no direct quotes. As in many newspaper articles they avoid that, and promote an opinion/version which chimes in with what the subject of the article wants putting out there. They use phrases like 'It is understood that', 'it is believed' or 'according to sources close to'.
That or the journalist has had a lazy Easter and penned this work of complete fiction for a bit of mischief.
    What do you believe?

"The Mail understands..." is a staple of the HDM.

Shortly after Marco Silva was appointed, I read somewhere (on this forum?) that City/Allams had been approached twice, possibly by his agent; finally his agent flew to UK, visited the Eeyore and forced him to read Marco's CV.

    Eeyore experienced a Pauline conversion.

(Later, Eeyore would claim it as his idea...)

If there is no element of truth in the article the Allams or the club could always sue the newspaper, I mean the last thing the club want is any further division of fans and club.

"Although British, Coleman’s European outlook, honed in brief managerial spells with Real Sociedad and Greek club Larissa – in particular a devotion to sports science - impressed Hull but the Welsh FA held firm, and by the time they admitted defeat, back-to-back victories on the field also scuppered a move for Silva."

so IF they would have got rid of SB... and employed MS instead?
you wouldnt have joined Brady in slitting your wrists too?
I think that their suspicions of the fans and their innability to handle change, is correct.
I agree they could have handled everything a helluvalot different but the plain and simple fact is that a lot of tarts on here and in this town in general, cant handle change.
    is it a mental thing?

like it or not, HCFC is a business... the Allams are running it as a business.
    In business, feelings get hurt.
it isnt a great idea hurting the ppl that are your customer base tho

if we had employed MS at the beginning of the season and we were top 10.. I wonder how many of you would still be pissed off.

They had the opportunity to employ Silva pre season. They chose to ignore his application & not even respond to it.

They were given a second chance nudge by Silva in September, they again ignored it without acknowledgement.

They only got Silva because of Silva & his representative's determination to have his application considered.

Despite an agent coming unannounced from Leeds to Hull to make sure they received, acknowledged & read Silva's CV a move was made to attempt to cut the agent out of the deal. This delayed the deal being concluded sooner.

The Allam's are ****s, nothing will ever change that.

Why would back to back victories scupper a move for Silva ?

Reading between the lines the article positively shows an owner courting his current manager to sign an extension to his contract.
Every owner tells his target manager that he was his first choice. In Silva's case Allam can't say that because it's well documented that he wasn't, so he's done the next best thing and told him he was next on the list. It's all bullshit and all just part of the game.

Whether the fans wishes were the deciding factor in the appointment of Phelan is doubtful, but there is little doubt that on these boards he was the popular choice of posters who wanted some sort of stability, and there was also a desperate need to get new players in the building.

Anyway the good news is this is more evidence that the Allams are trying to keep Silva. We know he's sent his 'retain list' to them (including Maguire, Robertson and Tymon) and the club has sent a representative to pursue van der Wiel.
The key is staying up, but this makes me more hopeful that we'll keep him here if we manage to dodge the trap door.
