You can't say that. You drew with Palace cause you were going all out to score 7 or 8 goals to make up goal difference that would have been irrelevant if you'd beaten Chelsea.

    EDIT: Bugger already raised.

So the West Brom game(and others that season)had no bearing on the final outcome?

Like Sky said Gerrard's slip played its part but was not the overall cause.

Everyone can say that though. I'm sure Arsenal can point to games last season that they should have won to overhaul Leicester, as can we. Fact is by the Chelsea game you were in prime position and would surely have won the league had you won that game. I remember cause I was rooting for you as the most bearable option in with a chance.

At the end of the day, if Gerrard hadn't slipped and you drew the game, you would still have been ahead of City.

As a consequence Gerrard slipped, Ba scored and the rest is history.

It's a bit like saying, Aguero didn't score the goal that won City the league, it was a whole host of things including United losing to City, the wind blowing in the wrong direction that cause United to draw against Everton etc etc.

Most ironic moment by an utter poseur.
No problem with the "this does not slip" speech, but that should have been
at FT inside the changing room and not on the pitch (Nemesis is an evil cow :) ) .

Do the results tonight effectively mean that Spurs will be the last team
to fall to Chelsky in the title race ??

Realistically, it's still Chelsea's title to lose. They have the far easier run in, and barring a total collapse should still get across the line.

We have 6 games left. 4 of those are away games, and our 2 remaining home games are Arsenal and Man Utd. So, from here on in it's Chelsea who have a far easier task.

I hope that we'll fight until the end this time. But, it looks as though we will make top four at the worst. If you'd offered us that at the start of the season, with all the high spending competition around, we'd have gladly taken it.

No point in Spurs getting in the top 4 again if this seasons effort in the CL is anything to go by

    Interesting

Chelsea did not have a shot on target for the first time in a Premier League game since September 23, 2007. The result that day was 2-0 to Manchester United, too. It was Avram Grant’s first game as manager, after Mourinho’s first Stamford Bridge dismissal.

We're a young side and still learning. And MP seemed a little uncertain about priorities. As we have a relatively small squad we didn't always field the best side we could, either. But we have to keep making progress and learn.

We don't have the unlimited purse that you lot have, so we can't just go and blow £70-80 mill on a player that we need.

Having said that, no real excuses. Particularly about the Europa, we should have done far better. The CL, we were up against Monaco, who've been underrated by everybody this year.

Too stubborn,if he'd been a bit mor pragmatic we would've been challenging for the title and made a better fist of the away leg in Monaco
Big season for him next year

Yeah, getting knocked out by Monaco's really embarrassing, isn't it?

So, erm, they may have a better recent record than you, but Spurs have more success...in the future?

    The "reverse Liverpool" gambit?

With the Spuds and success it boils down to keeping your manager and squad together and that I fear will not happen, money talks and your owner loves money.
