My thoughts on the Arsenal game - Taylor and Colo = God beasts

  1. First off, **** off Gervinho you diving piece of ****.

On to the review. Colo and Taylor were ****ing immense. They're going to be a fantastic pair of CB's for us, Colo the quick and nippy one, and Taylor the powerful CB.

Raylor actually was pretty damn good at LB. To be honest, when Pieters comes, we should consider Raylor as a competitor for the RB position. It just shows how unlucky he was last season with some of his tackles.

Raylor was up against one of the best wingers in the league and even though Gervinho skinned at times, i couldn't have asked for any more from Raylor. He was good and much better than feckin Perch.

Ba wasn't good at all really, and Shola and Ba are a cack upfront pair. Shola wasn't actually that bad today and he lead the line well at times. He won a decent amount in the air, made some good passes. Not great but not **** either.

OBERTAN!! - Excellent debut. He's like Jonas but he can win things in the air and has some strength. He's fast as ****!!

    Ratings -

Krul - 8 - Good performance. 1 shakey moment but apart from that excellent.

Simmo - 7 - Pretty good actually. Caught out of position at times at usual, but he didn't back off as much. Danny is much better than pre-season.

Taylor - 10 - ****ing brutal and solid as a rock. He's only 6ft but he's cracking in the air and pwned Van Persie's ariel threat.

Colo - 10 - Excellent performance from our new captain.

Raylor - 7.5 - Good performance. Obviously he was pwned at times by Gervinho, but him and Jonas paired in defense well.

Barton - 9 - Excellent performance. I can't blame him for getting hacked off with Gervinho, even though i think he should have calmed himself down. I don't know exactly all that happened, but i'll watch the replay tonight. Gervinho = Diving twat.

Cabaye - 6.5 - Didn't get involved that much for me. He was good in attack and made some decent passes but he seemed a bit off the pace for portions of the game.

Tiote - 7.5 - Not his best but he roughed up Arsenal, was a bit silly at times and i think he could have been sent off if Ramsey fell over after a trip from him. He doesn't seem to have learned. I'm glad he's putting in challenges, but sometimes he just doesn't seem to think. Good performance.

Jonas - 8 - Defended well and did his job. Made some good runs, great link up play. Good performance.

Shola - 7 - Good performance tbh. He burned off a little bit after 60 mins, but for the first half at least he was ok.

Ba - 6 - Some decent link ups with Shola but to be honest, i don't see it working. He was all right but he's not a target man at all. He gets owned against good CB's when it comes to knocking down balls from GK's and long balls.

Obertan - 8 - Very good debut. Looks like a good buy for the money. Excellent pace and agility, good passing, decent strength and aggressiveness and a fighting spirit.

Best - 7 - Decent when he came on. Some good movement, threatened a bit.

    Lover - N/A

MOM - Taylor and Colo. Barton was excellent but Taylor and Colo were the reason we got a point in the end.

My final thought - ANOTHER STRIKER IS NEEDED! Our defense was good, our midfield was good, but our threat on goal for the most was poor. Our set pieces were **** but i expect it was just an off day.

Promising first day though. We kept our heads. All we need is strikers!! We look like a good mid table quality team but we don't threaten enough up front!!!

Pretty biased towards Barton, every free kick and corner didn't beat the first man!

  4. His freekicks were **** but his overall play was immense.

I thought actually appart from hs battlling Barton was quite poor, especially his delieverys. Cabaye was alright really. Was hard for him to get involved when Arsenal had a lot of the possession and we weren't really keeping the ball.

Barton was not a 9.5, he was mainly crap today. His set piece's were mainly awful and he was being caught too far up the pitch most of the game.

  7. At the end of the day it's our first game and we got a good result and it was a promising performance.

Barton's delivery and passing was ****e, he battled well but how the hell can you give him 9.5!

  9. His long balls and crosses were not ****e, his FK's were ****e, but his passing was excellent. I put him down to a 9, i'm just wound up a bit now. 9 seems fair to me.

Massive over rating of Barton, he was dreadful for the most part.

Your ratings are always very generous Tash! Barton was a 6.5 at very best. The highest being Colo with an 8. Yeh, Obertan was good, but he wasnt the 8 you said. More round a 7.

Colo was class at defending today, however was no-one else getting frustrated by how much he was going for the long ball and in the process basically giving it back to Arsenal.

As i said cant knock his defending, but really needs to work on his passing to help us build attacks!

So instead of 10 id give him a 8/10, not 10!

Barton was nowhere near a 9.5, I think a few people have hyped his influence on the game based on their defence of what happened; showing loyalty to our player. His set pieces were garbage. Obertan was pleasing, he showed some great pace and some good touches. I was also quite impressed with Best when he came on, infinitely more threatening than Shola. Taylor and Colo were great, Simpson same as usual, solid enough defensively but as soon as he gets on the ball he just spanks it out of play!

Hugely overrating Obertan. Six at best, had a few good runs but nothing great enough to get warrant an 8. Also fairly lazy with tracking back.

I think you forgetting about the 1st half completly because the passes and long balls Barton made nearly all landed to the feet of Arsenal players.

QPR result was brilliant. Dont normally like seeing new teams taking a stuffing on the opening day. But, with how QPR fans have been acting, im glad. Should hopefully bring them back down to earth. Shame about Dyer though.

Joey was a 7 at best.
    Would give Shola a 5.5.
Giving 10's out is a bit much as well.. <laugh>

Just giving my opinion compared to someone else haha. But it really is something a professional player should be able to do imo, he has the pace, he showed that in his runs but he just allowed unneeded pressure on the rest of the team. Annoys me when it doesn't happen, I still shout for Shola to track back <laugh>
