The disgraceful actions of Song and Gervinho are obviously overshadowing the match itself. But lets all rejoice in the performances of both Colo (MOTM for me) and Saylor, IF both can stay fit then I believe we're going to see one of the best centre half pairings we've had in years!

Completely agree, looked comfortable against a good Arsenal forward line. If those two stay fit all season it could make the difference between bottom and top half

Colo was absolutely world class! Read every pass, made every tackle and was one of our best players going forward.

What happened? I was in the Leazes so couldn't see the crack. I saw Barton trying to pick Gervinho up and Gervinho not being happy about it...

Colo was the keystone today, I do not think we would of drawn without him. Saylor looked good (apart from one moment) today as well.

They both were quality, I really hope they keep it up!
Less runs forward though Taylor so you don't lose the ball <laugh>

    They were both awesome today!

Just need a LB in (and hopefully and striker) before the sunlun game then we are looking good <ok>

    STaylor & Colo
    Cabaye & Tiote

We should be very solid down the centre this season. Just need a striker and a left back now! <ok>

Agreed, for all Nolans goal scoring exploits last season, his bombarding forward and lack of any pace to get back did exploit us and we were prone to counter attacks, with Cabaye we have alot more balance.

Would have to agree with this, both looked solid throughout. I can see another 0-0 at SoS. We were toothlesss in attack.

Basically this game highlighted the obvious for us. We need a striker and a LB ...

Play Best or Ba instead of Shola and we would look more dangerous. I still want another striker to come in though.

If we can keep them fit and get a good left back in (Cissokho PLEASE) we could have a bloody good back line.

I think this season will be a defining one in Simpson's career.

Colo was a god amongst men today. All others can merely bask in his glory.

Our attack will improve. Our first choice midfield barely played together in preseason. 6-7 games in is when we should judge our attack. They've not played together or in this league, they'll only get better and not play a team as good as the arse every week.

PS send shola to the glue factory now

For us I thought Colo was Man of he match, Saylor had probably one of if not his best game for us. Top notch from them bot.

Raylor was caught out a few times but over all the defence and midfield worked well together.

THere are definitely some things to work out, but I was pretty satisfied, especially with the effort. I think I was happiest with the fight in the players (no pun intended for Barton). They seem to be up for it this season!
