Well probably he's a fan that lived through those glory years, tbh I've never really brought it up with him.
Picked the name cause I wanted a witty username that respected a great player. You know us LFC fans, love our history

Yorkshire is one big county!! By the way, do you have any feelings for any of the Yorkshire clubs? I feel that Sheffield clubs might have a more local support than Leeds, who still have quite a big national support amongst an older generation of supporters - guys who are 30 plus. 20 year olds are probably supporting Real Madrid, Barca or ...... take your choice. How many global United supporters switched their allegiance when Ronaldo was sold?

Have been to most big towns and Cities and alot of random other places inbetween in Yorkshire, away games for Hockey.
Don't have much feeling towards the Yorkshire clubs, Sheff Weds are the local (like 5mins down the road local) and most of my friends support them, so the probably the only ones I pay attention too. Don't like Sheff U though, mainly cause of someone I used to go to school with, massive twat.
Leeds probably have the biggest support all around, although not in S.Yorkshire where it is a crime to be a LU fan, N. Yorkshire is still very Leeds, probably due to the lack of big clubs.

One fact that is true about LFC fans. They are very fair in their footballing assessments, sometimes it comes with a bit of tongue in cheek. This is replicated by Manchester United fans even though the two sets of fans detest each other. Tottenham and Arsenal fans are also quite fair. Maybe it comes with living in large metropolitan cities where there is a greater diversity of views and people, something that is lacking in the more provincial places.

Thanks Roger! Enjoy your Easter break and hope it is good for Liverpool. Keep the faith with Klopp as I think he is one very good manager. Hope SFC can beat City tomorrow. I will be disappointed if they can't as City are not that great. They are good, I have to admit.

It was historically. Both Liverpool and Manchester were part of Lancashire until the major re-drawing of the boundaries to create the Metropolitan areas in the 70's.

Sorry to piss on your Bonfire Mito but I was born in Calderdale (Halifax) next door to Kirklees (Huddersfield) and grew up roughly in between Huddersfield and Halifax Town centers and Hudds town have always been bigger than the RL club. It's the other way round in Halifax although our RL club has fallen on Hard times.

The ground was built for the football team following the demolition of their old Leeds Rd ground. The RL team were scratching around in a ****hole in Fartown before they got their lucky break when the Superleaguie francises were handed out.

Although Rugby League as sport was born in 1895 (coz the posh southern gits didn't our players getting paid to chase eggs!!) at George Hotel in the town so their is a big connection.

@luvgonzo Gonz - I pm'd the mods asking one of them to change the title of the Hillsborough inquest thread just for today but none have replied yet. I just realised you created the thread and you're active on here atm, could you change it just for today as it looks to any visitors like we haven't bothered commemorating the anniversary.

    2-0 now.

Given Spurs stellar home record this season, I'd fully expect Utd and Arsenal to drop points at the lane :emoticon-0100-smile
