their swedish meatballs are alright yeah but i prefer some of the supermarket own brand veggie ones, the quorn ones can go hard easily

Not necessarily. You can deep fry in some pans but the technique would still not be called "pan fried". Certainly not all deep fry is with pans, your local chippy doesn't use a pan.
