Whatever about Konchesky who is nearly 36, Jamie O'Hara is only 30. What a fall from grace. Amazing he never ended up with us. He would have been typical of the type of the player we used to sign.

It does demonstrate that he wanted to play, not just take a salary and relax. I can think of others who would rather just finish their careers playing one game per season for a big side.

Saw him a few weeks ago at Dulwich Hamlet, they won the game in the first half hour going 3-0 up. The two teams met in the reverse fixture the following Tuesday and Dulwich beat them easily. Billericay have a £20k a week wage bill on gates below 1,000, the owner must have very deep pockets but it's no guarantee of success as they look likely to miss out on the play-offs this year...

Konchesky, locked in a slow motion death battle with Luke Young for the coveted Billericay left back berth. Or he will be once Luke is off the physios table.

    Bloody Luke Young.

I think you will find that he is taking a salary!

The weekly wage bill at Billericay is (according to the owner) £20k net. The club will be paying PAYE/NIC on top of the net figure. God knows what he will pay out next season if they are to compete for promotion!

To be fair, Konch looks embarrassed, their coach/ manager is well into it though, what a knob.

He had a great career off the back of being left-footed at a time when there were no English left-backs. Dross even in his prime.

The Manager is the owner. He was interviewed on Talksport after they lost at home to Dulwich after he offered all the crowd a written apology and half price for the following home match. He sounded a pretty decent guy saying he's been successful in business and he is using this season to make all his idiotic decisions that he won't be making in future. He may well prove successful if he finds the right manager to take them forward but it sounded like he will stay as manager next season if they don't go up...

    Sucessful in business?

Well he probably has been. He certainly has experience with companies entering administration!

He will need access to multi millions if Billericay are to achieve his (not the clubs) ambitions. Ground improvements for promotion to the National League (Conference) would run to hundreds of thousands at the very least, but with two promotions required for that he would have time to spread the cost around.

BTW, Billericay were the third club he had tried to buy & failed to land Dagenham earlier this season. There are reports that he has approached, but failed to land, the Lincoln managerial brothers & John Still to take over as manager.

Good luck to Billericay Town. They will need it!

Of course he's taking a salary, but there are players earning tons more by sitting on the bench at large clubs rather than carrying on playing, even though it is at a small club
