Very interesting article. Not the sort of facts that, say, TalkShite would mention. Although I'm wondering if the situation were reversed, they might use it as an excuse why one of their favourites lost out to us.

Given how happy some of them are to make ready-made excuses for teams, for example we've had Narratives written this season about Liverpool facing fixture congestion during the Christmas period and during February (and it got to the point that in one post-match interview the interviewer straight up asked Norbert to talk about the club's fixture congestion) there is a definite trend to say that some clubs are affected by injuries or fixture congestion while ignoring others, for example how much coverage was given to the various Palace players likely to miss the remainder of the season compared to whichever Man Utd, Liverpool or City players are out injured? If anything Palace would be the club affected by long-term injuries, as they don't have a squad who can cope with that - meanwhile City coped with the loss of Gundogan by recalling Yaya Toure and moved on as if nothing had happened.

Watching Sunday Supplement this season has been really annoying. They've been saying how United are back to their best and blaming the players, rather than Mourinho, when it becomes obvious they're still struggling. Just this weekend they were talking about how United have the most shots per game and it's just unlucky/the players fault that they aren't doing well. AVB did pretty much the samething with us and I didn't see any of them rushing to defend him(rightly so as it turned out). Fact is Mourinho really does deserve a lot of the blame, they completely lack a cutting edge or any real purpose to their play.

Meanwhile they all piled on Pep when they were talking about City. They called him arrogant(a manager is arrogant? Shocking) and waffled on about how he needs to spend loads in the summer, as if that didn't apply to every other side except us and Chelsea. Guardiola does deserve criticism but there wasn't a single attempt to mitigate it or praise him for some of the things he's got right.

It's just ridiculous that there's no middle ground with journalists, when things go badly you either get blindly defended or absolutely battered by them. I know it's a long shot now, and there would be much more to celebrate if we did win the league, but I'd Kevin Keegan "love it" watching them backtrack after everyone on there crowned Chelsea as champions back in February.

I thought exactly the same thing.
What's Mourinho done this time and why's it headline news? Wait, he did what on a plane?!

Today, the Daily Mail have Harry Kane flaunting his new £40,000 Jaguar. Flaunting a car that cost less than most players spend on their second best watch?

Come on, in football terms this is like me buying a Lada Riva with 2 flat tyres, a dodgy gearbox and an empty petrol tank and boasting about it. Jolson Lescott has a Lamborghini, for ****'s sake!

"Harry likes great value British car" must not be a big enough story.

Not really practical is it, owning a flashy high-speed car when you are :

    1. Mainly doing the urban cycle
    2. Unlikely to get club / insurer permission to gun it on a private track
    3. The father of a recently born kid

British designed and built. Sure the Tata's own it but foreigners own this country. How long until we are The London Fighting Cocks?

I'm sure Harry has a family car as well. Doesn't he have two dogs? Sure he must have some kind of Chelsea Tractor to cart them around in. If I was on these kind of wages I'd have a family car and then maybe as Aston Martin for the fun driving and a proper original mini just for the hell of it. Look great in the players car parks alongside all the bling-mobiles. (Didn't Jurgen drive a VW Beatle?)

2013: Ed Milliband announces a policy of capping energy bills, the Mail and Express accuse him of price fixing, taking us back to "the bad old days" or frequent blackouts across the country, and cap it off by slurring his father

2017: Theresa May announces a policy of capping energy bills, the Mail and Express say how fantastic it is that she's preventing the fat cat energy companies from fleecing the public

Pochettino has said he thought Alli should be in the nominees for POTY
(will post when I have a better audio quality) . There are already clickbait
Narrative (TM) titles out there (expect full-blown works soon) .

Liverpool's favourite paper has gone out of it's way to ingratiate itself to the people of Merseyside, again.
Kelvin MacKenzie, the editor at the time of the Hillsborough slurs, has written an article slagging off Ross Barkley.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39601728

MacKenzie's clearly a total ****er and I hope this blows up in his face, but I'll defend him on one point.
I don't think that he's being intentionally racist, at all. In fact, if he knew of Barkley's ancestry, then I doubt he'd have written that.
He's a moron, but even he's not that stupid. The rest of it? Standard for that rag.

  15. Certainly not going to defend MacKenzie or his dreadful rag, but 'racist'? Really? Will be interesting to see how the criminal complaint goes and how Plod and the CPS progress matters...... <laugh>

I want to hear MacKenzie's defence.

"Sorry officer, but I'm clearly too thick to know that Barkley's mixed-race, so I couldn't have meant it like that."
"I was being an offensive arsehole, but in a completely different manner, I swear!"

  17. Journos push and push away at Poch to get him to say anything the least bit controversial and this is the best that they can do!!! <laugh>
He concededs that in his opinion Dele was worth a nomination for POTY rather than YPOTY. Seeing as he is arguably one of the top 5 or 6 players in the PL for the past 12 months and has already won the YPOTY, then its hardly a radical thought!
The match press conferences are an embarassment (for the journos) due to the fact that not only are the questions generally inane, but none of them appear to have learnt how to ask those questions to someone for whom English is very much a 2nd language. It's not a difficult skill, but needs to be learned - and it doesn't just mean shouting loudly!!! <laugh>

  19. The suspension is only for the Mouser comments. Plod will 'investigate' the alleged racially aggravated comments about Barkley, but proving any sort of intent will be difficult. Certainly harder than proving Barkley is a dumb twat!! <laugh>

...only if MacKenzie then follows it up by trying to prove his intent by doing this
