    Rumours?

    Torbett went to jail for abusing children at Celtic boys club Mindy.McCafferty is on remand for the same thing. This new guy has been charged for what? Rumours?

    For **** sake Mindy a couple of hours ago you posted about somebody saying Ahd go to the polis has never been in contact with a victim of child abuse or words to that affect. Looks to me that you care more about CFC than any victims.

    Torbett didnt go to jail in 1974...it was 20 years later.

    As there was no proof nor people willing to admit to police they were victims in 1974 its only rumour that Stein would have heard. If people were willing to be witnesses in 1974 Torbett would have been arrested in 1974.

    This sensitive subject is clearly beyond your understanding

    Mindy he was done for abusing boys from 1967 until 1974. He was arrested and charged because people did come forward. During the case the victims testified that they informed the managment at Celtic what was happening at that time. Torbett was sacked at that time.

    He was then took back into the fold in 1980 and we now have other victims saying they were abused by him after that date. Hopefully he will be re arrested and charged with those offences in the near future and his victims will have some kind of justice.

    In saying that...it might all just be rumours.

    You realise when something was a rumour in the past and is later confirmed...that it was still a rumour when it was heard in the past?

    It's puzzling that victims or their families/parents didn't go directly to the police but, it seems, chose to approach the club.

    The victims told Stein but they had no proof apart from their word so aye yer right it was just rumours.
