Just for the record, I don't believe anyone has ever received a banning order for chanting 'does your boyfriend know you're here', there's barely any arrests for chanting, never mind banning orders. Of 1,895 football related arrests in the last set of figures, only 17 were for chanting and they were pretty much all for racist chanting. Even then, only a couple of them resulted in banning orders, though some clubs imposed their own stadium bans on fans (Sheffield United issued bans against a couple of fans for chanting 'you're just a town full of ISIS' at Bradford fans). The reason for the moves to stop the 'does your boyfriend know you're here' type stuff has nothing to do with anyone finding it offensive, it's to try and create a climate where a professional football doesn't have to hide the fact he's gay.
If you're looking at it from the point of view of a comedian, then you're saying it knowing and hoping the other people won't find it funny. As if the people being chanted at about the bombing were going to think "yeah, you're right, **** it." and start laughing. Comedy comes from either a good or bad place, but the end result is to get a laugh. You can't possibly think that the end result of these kinds of chants is to cheer people up? It's done to upset the opposition. Nothing more. "Sorry your loved ones might have died, I thought joking about it would make you feel better".
Can we have a new thread listing the songs, words and insults that are permitted these days. It looks like gay, ethnic minority, disability and anything remotely linked to those words are out. Words that some may find offensive ie. ****, fanny, twat, ****er, tosser, useless, clueless, thick, idiot, stupid, fat, fatty, thin, skinny, lanky, ginger are all verboden. In these new modern times just what is allowed that no one can take offense to?
As long as you don't call people ******s or Pakis, or accuse them of terrorist atrocities, or mock disasters where a lot of people died, you'll probably be okay. Maybe don't hiss at Spurs fans either, some Jewish people are still a little touchy over the whole Holocaust thing.
I was going to post something similar. We seem to be concentrating on a handful of chants here, when - I'm guessing - probably half of all songs sung in football stadia are offensive to somebody. Hell, I was amongst 7000 City fans at Bratfud singing in unison "you fat bastard" to one of our own Dean Windass, who would a few years down the line create the greatest moment (at that point) in our history.
Yeah to be fair usually the topics I was refering to have nothing to do with the people. I wouldn't actually make a comment about people dying to bombs to people affected by it as I'm not a ****.
Probably because Pikeys aren't a race, they're just a bunch of people who live in caravans and pay no tax and nobody likes them (It's evolved fairly recently into a derogatory term, it didn't start off as one, it was just a slang word for a traveller, an abbreviation of 'turnpike').
Same as Paki being an abbreviation of somebody from Pakistan, then. Pikey is a massively offensive term, and gypsies do consider themselves a race and saying 'nobody likes them' is really pretty ****ing offensive too.
Paki has always been used purely as a derogatory term. Gypsy isn't a race, that's a fact, not a matter of opinion. You think that mocking those that died in terror attacks is no big deal, but saying nobody likes gypsies is 'pretty ****ing offensive'? Are you sure Patty hasn't hacked your account?
When did I say 'mocking those that died in terror attacks is no big deal'? You really must stop putting words in my mouth / posts. And yes, categorising an entire group of people of a significant population around the globe in saying 'nobody likes them' is massively offensive.

I tried to become a professional football once but I was knocked out within 4 passes. I felt so deflated.
HOW IS THAT THE ****ING SAME AS 'NO BIG DEAL'? I think you need to learn the respective meanings of disgusting and no big deal. I also note you have omitted the part where I said the chant was IN POOR TASTE.
