For us, it has to be one step at a time. The idea that we can simply rock up in Europe and expect to compete as well as challenge for our own domestic title is pure arrogance.

That said, I'm not going to lie to you that I am not disappointed that we couldn't do better, and I will be looking for a massive improvement from the lads, next season. Certainly, if we spend the next 20 seasons completing in Europe and end up with nothing to show for it, we will have done no better than Arsenal, on that score. The difference between us is that I doubt you will find a single Yid who will say that he will be content for us simply turning up each year, which is what most Gooners would have told you.

We must get CL football is the mantra, then a club achieves it, and 'the extra games are taking their toll on our league form' comes into play, so what's the point? I mean seriously? Most of the clubs who enter it know they have **** all chance of winning the thing, so it becomes all about the cash.

I mean look at Chelsea this season, no European togger at all, and they're walking the league - coincidence? Nope, they've been able to 100% concentrate on their prime objective.

 

Playing these games does add so much more pressure on the clubs that qualify although I note that it was refreshing this year to see a manager resting his key players in a crucial UCL game for an away game at Stamford Bridge.

You accuse Bod and Tobes of sucking up or blowing rings up Leicester as you put it. This is untrue. What it is is other fans who have no affinity to Leicester as a club having respect for our achievements and being respectful. The reason they tear shreds off you is because, like the rest of us, they see a bitter person who feels the need to undermine everything we do to the point of starting a thread to antagonise Leicester fans and taking any opportunity to slate the club. If you have a problem with our club, you'd be well advised to do what most would do and not comment or start antagonistic threads.

This is a football forum, where discussion relies upon differing viewpoints being explored and mooted.

Some people think that Leicester are still in with a chance, others think that last night's parking of the bus demonstrates Leicester's fragility against one of the best sides in Europe.

I can understand you not agreeing with me - I expect that - but to attempt to silence me because you don't like my analysis is pathetic, mate!

You've got it into your mind that I am anti-Leicester, and nothing I now say is going to alter your views.

I could start praising Leicester and say that they've done really well this season, by failing so miserably in the league but clinging on limpet-like against a team that is going to beat them over two legs, but I would be lying to myself (because I do not believe that).

I could tell you that I don't, in fact, believe that last season was a fluke, which Leicester took advantage of, but I would be lying to myself, because I do think it was a fluke. Sure, you took advantage of it in spectacular fashion - I have to give you that much credit - but it was a fluke nonetheless, as far as I am concerned.

By the way, I am not the only one who believes these things, but I am the only one who - for the purposes of introducing some balance to any discussion on the subject - is prepared to say what he believes and not get crushed beneath all the platitudes and patronising bollocks that is spoken.

Why do you get so wound up by what I write? What I say is nothing more than a different point of view; it's neither right nor wrong; it's just words on a screen, ffs!
