The really stupid thing about the Fail is that they missed the obvious story, which was that she worked on a travel visa. They decided to dream up some vague fantasy about her working as an escort instead, which they had no evidence to support. Even if it were true, so what? That Trump's wife was allegedly an illegal immigrant worker is a much better narrative. As I've said elsewhere, they also appear to have slandered the guy that got pulled off the United Airlines flight. He's got the same name as a disgraced doctor and they've said that it's him. It would be nice if they could go a day without a lawsuit, wouldn't it?
I really don't think he is as thick as it appears. Your latter point is looking increasingly likely. Either they're racists or they're trying to play to the racists and I don't think the differentiation between the two really matters. They're normalising the whitewashing of Nazi war crimes just as they've normalised Putin being good and verifiable facts being lies. It's the same administration, run by the same guy who repeatedly refused to disavow the leader of the KKK and didn't even mention the Jewish lives lost in a speech on Holocaust Rememberance Day. It's a ****ing disgrace that these guys keep getting away with it. I hope the Queen withdraws the state visit invitation because that's an utter joke too.
Let's face it, that would be a challenge!! Spicer has been trying to get extricate himself from the mire again today - and only making matters worse. In trying to get back in Dumpf good books he has said the President has had a brilliant 2 weeks!! Even by comparison with the previous 8 weeks, it would be difficult to support that, bearing in mind the volte face over Syria. When you're in a hole with a spade in your hand and cannot reach the top - STOP DIGGING!!
It's not Spicer's first 'open mouth insert both feet' moment. I really don't think he's too bright. The press seem to sense this and try to goad him into saying something idiotic. He invariably delivers! What he said yesterday was just arrant stupidity. It was so incorrect that you couldn't even classify it as an attempt to 'normalize' Nazi war crimes.
Just think, there is EU regulation that prevents EU citizens from being subjected to the sort of appalling treatment that was we saw David Dao receive on Flight 3411 ...which will no longer apply to the UK, so cross your fingers that airline staff don't want you to give up your seat on a fully-booked flight.

I'm not saying he's an evil genius, he's clearly not the brightest tool. I'm just saying that I firmly believe that statements like saying Hitler did not use chemical weapons, and referring to death camps as "Holocaust centres" are not born out of extreme ignorance but an attempt to play things down. It might be stupid what he said, but far more importantly, it's flirting with racism. It wasn't some bizarre moment of idiocy. It's not an outlier. It fits directly with other Spicer, Trump, Sessions and Bannon comments, where they treat anything that affects non-white, non-Christian in a different way than Christian whites.
I don't know what shocks me most - the fact that he cannot differentiate between Iraq and Syria or the fact that he brags on Fox News (who else) about firing missiles over eating chocolate cake with President Xi. The guy is a ****ing moron - sorry, a ****ing dangerous imbecilic moron!!
That's obviously the worst blunder but there's an awful lot else to unpack from that. So he's sitting down having a meal and is asked for final confirmation to bomb a foreign country, which he does so without any need for further discussion with his advisors, any update on changing circumstances, while he's sat eating cake? Not taking it very seriously, is he. Then he tells Xi, who then gives an answer that sounds very much like a Trump answer, almost as if Trump is simply making it up on the spot. He also says the US military have amazing missiles, better than anybody else's several times over, but the military has been depleted and way behind other nations, as he's said before. Also, didn't a fair few of those missiles miss? Or is that just unverified from what Syria said after? I forget.
Let's get this right. The U.S government are self-appointed world vigilantes. Adopting such a role requires them to be on a very sound footing legally and morally when they intervene in other nations' affairs by using military force. There may be good reason for them doing so on many occasions. But you'd expect them to have the most basic understanding of world affairs before they made any decision and exercised their judgement. If you listen to the White House's press secretary, you'd be worried whether they have the first inkling about world affairs past or present. In fact, they give the impression that they haven't a clue. It's frightening.
It's ok Luke, they're only ****ing about in Syria to try and cover up the Russia scandal that was dominating the headlines. It's worked until today, but then Page and Manafort's idiocy resurfaced, so Trump's talking about firing Comey. Now, North Korea? That's ****ing scary.
Because he is. Remember his doctor's note, saying that he was the fittest man ever to run for President? He makes all of this crap up, but he's got such a distinctive way of talking that it's bloody obvious. This is a man that can't meet his own lawyers in a one-to-one situation, as they don't trust him not to bullshit. Seriously.
I've no doubt that he's a bigot and most probably a racist too. However, I still think he's not only politically naive, but pretty low on the intelligence scale too. The press over there play him like a music box. Wind it up and off it goes.
