Modern day Brutus would have then nicked Caesars beak stash and tried to get across his bird at the wake.

It could be worse, after all I know the real reason Sharpe* keeps dozing off - it's because the poor lil' lamb tuckered himself out after spending the entirety of yesterday afternoon defiling an entire shipment of apple Muller rice, one pot at a time.

I hear the end result still isn't as bitter as anything Ginger Marks posts on this forum though...

"Atletico have not conceded a single goal in their past eight home knockout ties.

The last visiting player to score at the Vicente Calderon in a tie in the last 16 or later was Kaka in AC Milan's 4-1 loss in March 2014, and Leicester's challenge is to succeed where Chelsea, Barcelona (twice), Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have all failed."

Correct. Conceded one goal in their last eleven home CL Games.

They've also beaten Barca & Bayern ( twice) there in the last year.

The atmosphere at the Vicente Calderón is electric, especially with Simeone conducting the crowd.

  8. Atletico Madrid v Leicester City

So, by how many goals are you Foxes expecting to get mullered, tonight?

Don't get me wrong, I will be rooted for you. However, we have to be realistic here.

I think that if you can keep it to no more than 3-0, you'll be able to pat yourselves on the back, lads.

    What do you reckon?

If Leicester draw 1-1 people will act like they've won.

    1-1 to Leicester.

That would be a very good score for Leicester to take into the home leg I guess.

I hope Leicester do well. The result against Sevilla has opened any closed Spanish eyes and will ensure there's no complacency from Atletico. Leicester will be taken seriously.

Leicester are taking on one of the best defenses in world football. Atletico give very little away, especially at home.

If they come away with a draw, that's a great result for them.

  17. I think a lot is going to depend on how physical/dirty Leicester are going to be. They might well be willing to sacrifice at least one player to a red card in order to keep the score to 2-0 or 3-0. Also, I'm expecting a fair bit of "professional" tactics, such as judicious diving in and around the opposition box, in the hope of conning the ref.

They've got to be careful, though, because these continental refs are not bred from the same muppet-stock that our refs appear to be, and they won't put up with that kind of ****.

Provided that Leicester are not too "shakey," I'm going to be generous and predict 3-0 to Atletico, but I am expecting it to be a drubbing-style 3-0, rather than a "it flattered the Spaniards" kind of 3-0. I hope that makes sense?

  20. What?

You must have misread what I wrote, Bodi.

Don't get me wrong - please, don't do that! No one wants Leicester to get through this more than me. I promise you that. I will be cheering on every niggly little tackle, every hoof up field, every surreptitious dive, every wayward elbow, every long-range hit-and-hope blast at goal, the bloody lot, mate!

All I ask is that you don't have a pop at me if I bring a little bit of reality into the equation. I do not do "blind" passion, Bodi. Never have done.
