Today demonstrates exactly how the SPL operates. There is no change from last season. We were made fools of yet again, Rangers getting it tight against Caley, despite big Terry Butcher having done his best not to prepare his team when up pops the referee with not one penalty but two. Now this is a young referee who wants to go places, so he has given Rangers 5 penalties in 3 games. Hugh and Dougie advised him well. At Celtic Park same old, same old Craig Thompson, deliberate kicks and trips with usually no punishment. Utd Manager should be thoroughly ashamed of himself, Houston is part of the Scottish Management team and he saw Scot Brown injuring his ankle in a mid week international. Every Dundee Utd player that came near Brown went for his ankle, kick after kick and did Craig Thompson give him protection, well he might have booked a player on his third kick, I suppose that is protection for a Celtic player. Did the Dundee Utd Manager ask his players not to kick his International player in the second half, not exactly Brown got worse treatment. What about the kick at Hooper, that has put him out for God knows how long, it was so late it was unbelievable and inside the area. Penalty! don't be daft Craig Thompson you must be joking. What DID Mr Regan mean when he asked Celtic to give him time it would be all sorted out by this season. We need to get rid of this shower of referees as all they want to do is reward them and punish us.
I agree that Dundee Utd got away with too many dangerous tackles today. I can't say that they were all malicious but many were late and this happens to teams who like to play good football as they are usually more skilful and too quick with their feet on the ball for their opponents. It happens a lot in Barca games but our referees are much more attuned to protecting players - some might say too much so but I'd rather see delightful football (like the way the 5th goal was worked today) and players protected from the sort of injuries which have happened to Emilio Izaguirre previously and Gary Hooper today.
What "3 handballs"? One, yes, ....and the two penalties you did get were somewhat soft. In saying that, you were the better team so deserved the points.
You know I understand some Celtic fans question decisions as do Rangers fans but like you said this Timposter takes the micky reminds me of that idiot the InTimidator
Scottish football is corrupt to the core , wvhat league in the world would a great sliding tackle be punished with a pen and a red card ?!? The sad Scottish league , the same refs that saved rangers going bust still doing their jobs !!! Lawell get to uefa and show the evidence
Today demonstrates exactly how the SPL operates. There is no change from last season. We were made fools of yet again, Rangers getting it tight against Caley, despite big Terry Butcher having done his best not to prepare his team -Paraniod Much ? {PUD} when up pops the referee with not one penalty but two. Now this is a young referee who wants to go places - So, the referee is biased towards Rangers to further his career { PUD} , so he has given Rangers 5 penalties in 3 games. Hugh and Dougie advised him well. At Celtic Park same old, same old Craig Thompson, deliberate kicks and trips with usually no punishment - He was poor today, DUFC where hacking bastards, see post in matchday thread {PUD} Utd Manager should be thoroughly ashamed of himself, Houston is part of the Scottish Management team and he saw Scot Brown injuring his ankle in a mid week international. - What you accuisng Houston of? {PUD} Every Dundee Utd player that came near Brown went for his ankle, kick after kick and did Craig Thompson give him protection, - as above, Thompson was poor - {PUD} well he might have booked a player on his third kick, I suppose that is protection for a Celtic player. Did the Dundee Utd Manager ask his players not to kick his International player in the second half - , not exactly Brown got worse treatment. - What? You accusing a Manager of asking his players to delibretely hurt a fellow footballer ? {PUD} What about the kick at Hooper, that has put him out for God knows how long, it was so late it was unbelievable and inside the area. Penalty! don't be daft Craig Thompson you must be joking. Didn't see this tackle, hoep hooper not out for long {PUD} What DID Mr Regan mean when he asked Celtic to give him time it would be all sorted out by this season. We need to get rid of this shower of referees as all they want to do is reward them and punish us. I'll stand by my original point... PS I'm a Celtic fan, just not a paraniod one!
Pud , I watched my team everywhere for over thirty years , these thirty years have made me paranoid , 80 's young you laughed about it ,90's they had a better team but 8 and 9 in a row were a joke , but since they announced they were on their knees financially we have gone to a new level , watch those penalties today , Celtic have got to stand up and get to uefa and show evidence , last season we lost the league at Inverness , last second penalty shout ( never a penalty ) until you see those today , why are no Rangers fans embarrassed by these decisions ????
See? When you addressed his points, there was one you actually nearly agreed with! Maybe, in time, SH will have you agreeing more with him! LOL!!!
It really says a lot about Rangurs fans when they expect to get penalties everytime the ball hits the hand of an opponent, disregarding the rules. Of all the handball claims, only one deserved a penalty, Tokely, there others were nonsense. Says much about the ref, 5 penalty decisions to be made, 2 correct, 3 wrong. The game was going absolutely nowhere, infact I can't remember a Rangurs shot on target from open play, until Inverness were down to 10 men.
I agree that both penalties were soft but I feel the Ref realised he had let Inverness away with a couple of handballs and decided to even things up by awarding them. We are always told Refs never do that but this was clear evidence that they do. The first was not a penalty but I can see why the Ref maybe thought it was, the second however was a joke, never a penalty in a month of Sundays. As for Craig Thomson he was determined that no one was going to be Red carded despite several clear cut opportunties to do so. Two Refs, two bad performances, and yet they were on strike last season complaining they were hard done by. Maybe if we had consistency then we would have fewer complaints.
Again nothing changes. The bears try their sneer and ridicule tactics but cannot contest or argue against any of my points. The man who likes to demonstrates his bigotry posts about 3 hand balls that should have been penalties. Mendes based on previous posts, you could be posting about the Caley goalkeeper punching the ball and claiming it to be a penalty, as most of your endless musings have also been rubbish. I noticed you had been very quiet for a couple of days and was hoping that the library had barred you access to their computers.
He is my favourite poster on here. I can't work him though. I kinda think English isn't his first language, or that maybe he is a Rangers fan on the wind up, but I hope I'm wrong on both occasions.
