Ryder Cup will always be about. Whether the European countries are connected in anyway you would think is irrelevant. The players from England, Scotland Wales & Ireland would still be part of it whether their country was part of GB or not.
Is there a emoji for "shakes head in disbelief" ? The only one I can find that is close to being suitable is this one
Why would that be. If we are not part of Europe why would we be in a European team? Do japanese and Indian players take part. No they do not because they are not in Europe. Your post is as much use as Aussies is above, what he is going on about god only knows. Sometimes the least said the better.
If Israel and Kazakhstan or the numerous Russian teams can play in Europe then so can the UK ones is the closest I can find tramore might do too
Oh no! Will we miss out on Eurovision song contest too..... Unless Countess May can organise a few thousand tankers to tow us into the middle of the Atlantic, think we'll be stuck with Europe for several hundred million years yet!
How will the World Cup qualifying work now that we've established our own continent? I'd hope that the top 4 will qualify automatically with the fifth placed team (presumably Scotland after losing out to Sealand) have to play a play-off match against the 10th placed Asian team. I'm also concerned about what our continent will be called - Erasure perhaps while folks sing Respect while saluting a state effigy of Vince Clark and Andy Bell. Maybe dyspepsia? We could celebrate St Gorge's day drinking pints of milk of magnesia and belching that What a Feeling song used in that indigestion remedy advert. The last thing we want is to come out of this incontinent. Nobody wants that (with the possible exception of Farage).
you asked about more than the ryder cup in your thread title Inclusion of continental European golfers[edit] The most significant change to the Ryder Cup has been the inclusion of continental European golfers since 1979. Up until 1977, the matches featured teams representing the United States and Great Britain and Ireland. From 1979 players from continental Europe have been eligible to join what is now known as Team Europe. The change to include continental Europeans arose from discussion in 1977 between Jack Nicklaus and the Earl of Derby, who was serving as the President of the Professional Golfers' Association; it was suggested by Nicklaus as a means to make the matches more competitive, since the Americans almost always won, often by lopsided margins.[22] The change worked, as the contests immediately became much more competitive, with talented young Europeans such as Seve Ballesteros and Bernhard Langer bolstering the European side. The present-day popularity of the Ryder Cup, which now generates enormous media attention, can be said to date from that change in eligibility. it is not a team of eu golfers v america

Politically, Europe is divided into about fifty sovereign states of which the Russian Federation is the largest and most populous, spanning 39% of the continent and comprising 15% of its population.
