Said on our board before the wba game I could not watch that **** every week.

I genuinely would rather go back to league 1

I miss League 1. The only time I have had any understanding of how it must feel to be a fan of Man Utd, Arsenal etc.

(Edit: That's Man Utd and Arsenal in the days when they used to develop their own youngsters)

I really enjoyed the League 1 experience ... but am not hankering to revisit it anytime soon <laugh> ... the big plus for me was getting to meet some 'proper' fans ... people who watch their team week in and out for the love of it and with some real connection to the club ... Easter Monday at the now defunct Hereford United sticks in my mind ... went into a pub not far from the ground and the locals knew I was a Leicester fan despite the lack of colours ... good old chinwag before the game over a pint and the lads I was chatting to asked me to come back after the game ... I did and had another with them whilst we chatted about the game and all things footie ... similar exoeriences at other clubs in that division.<ok>

It's quite humbling - I was gutted when we got relegated but we were now on track for promotion - it dawned on me that for those lads things probably weren't going to get markedly better than League 1 in their lifetimes (it actually got worse and the club as it was no longer exists) ... mind you, at that point I wasn't looking any further than getting back into the Championship ... possibly a push for the play-offs next season ... nevertheles it did make me feel rather disingenuous about my feelings on being in League 1 in the first place.

I think your owner deserves a **** team...I like your gaffer though and I hope you stay up..i wouldn't like to see some Ex Spurs plying their trade in the Championship.

I feel the same way. If Roman walked away tomorrow and we went back to bring bang average, it honestly wouldn't bother me. We have had times that I thought I would never see ànd I really had some great times in the old Division 2. You get to meet real fans there and not some of the gobby plastics you get on this forum.

Absolutely, Bluey. Just look at how quiet the Gooners' board has gone, since Arsenal has become ****e!

I do find Harry Redknapp rather funny - if only for his absurd blinkeredness

He was on talkShite the other day talking about the rumours of Real coming in for Delle Alli ... whilst I'll admit to some paraphrasing his comments were along the lines of:

"Nah Alan (Brazil) ... I fink he'll stay wiv Spurs ... they're a team on the up ... why would he want to go anywhere else right now? ... he can stay at Spurs for 3 or 4 more years and acheive big things without having to move" ... possibly... but in rather marked contrast to his views at the end of our title winning season last year as I recall - when asked about whether we wcould/could hold on to our best players his response was that moves to clubs like Barca, Real, United, Chelsea and Arsenal etc only come about once in a lifetime and that our players would be daft not to jump ... having actually acheived something rather than possibly doing so in the next 3 or 4 years was completely irrelevant then ... wonder why? <laugh>

  11. You talk about Redknapp being blinkered!
    <laugh>

Everyone knows that Leicester fluked the title, and that they are very unlikely to do it again - ever. So, yeah, it is a perfectly valid point for Redknapp to suggest that your players should take the opportunity to move to a bigger club, if the chance came their way. Vardy was an idiot not to make the move to Arsenal.

Spurs, on the other hand, will continue to challenge for the title, and a top 4 spot, long after Leicester City has faded into history.

I'm not Redknapp's biggest fan, but I see no inconsistency or hypocrisy in what he said about our respective clubs.

That's fluked the title by 10 clear points to you McBetwelcher <laugh> ... picking up just about every playaer and manager award in doing so ... proving the point further by now having gone further than any other English team in the Champions League on the back of that spectacular triumph ...

You don't fluke a league title McBetwelcher ... it's over 38 games ..you really do have to earn it on merit ... and if you also throw in that we had the biggest points haul of any team over the last 9 games of the previous season too, then it makes your silly claims look even sillier ... the best team over 47 games in the EPL somehow fluked something?? <doh> ... get a grip fella ..apart from on your weiner .<laugh>

That's because he knows we are a bigger club, regardless of you winning the league. The hacks are not trying to sell your players anymore...Mahrez was dreaming of Barca last year, that ship has sailed unless you can do something similar again. It's not likely, even you admit that. We are trying to build a team to be consistently challenging. Therefore Redknapp is right, the likes of Alli have a real chance of doing well at Spurs and it's obvious even now that we will be there or thereabouts for a few seasons yet. Stadium move wil be our only hindrance, it certainly won't be because the players have gone to ****. That is very different to what was happening at Lesta....even when you was on the brinks of winning the league(on merit) everyone was talking about how you took the opportunity thanks to the 'big boys' being in transition and how it will never be repeated. We are not talking like that at Spurs. You won it last year, well done, we don't want it to be a thing of chance. We are trying to build a team for the long haul. Everything points towards that. Redknapp was right...however if it happens or not, that's football.

<laugh> it's because he is a tit ... if Real Madrid do actually put serious money down for Dele Alli why on earth would he stay? (you'll need to remove your Spurs blinkers for a moment) ... and I understand that the reality check is potentially gutting ... but we both know that with cold dispassionate consideration ... he'd likely be off <ok>

As a Spurs fan what troubles me is also what makes me proud.

If a top club came in for any one of our first choice 11, I don't think many people would be genuinely surprised. I also don't think you could say that about any other Prem team.

Scary, but also makes me hopeful about what this young team can achieve if we can hold them together.

In all fairness theres only been real interest in Loris, Kane & Rose the rest is really newspaper talk. If you believed the red tops Matic would be going to United, Courtois to Real along with Hazard & Kante with Azpilecuta going to Barca along with Moses and Costa to Athletico.
