the entire leave vote was based on a combination of misinformation, fear, a "Rule Brittania" mentality, xenophobia and good old bigotry ... to this day there hasn't been a single clear, informed economic argument made for leaving the EU because there isn't one to be made ... everybody agrees that we have no idea what the future looks like, but fcuk it we might as well go for it and see what happens ... well, that is just dumb, but we will have to work hard to get past the uncertainty and try and limit the damage I wonder if people realise just how frail the UK economy really is ... the country is propped up by the financial sector, and should major companies relocate away from the LSE it will leave a huge hole ... there is a very real danger of this happening, especially if the UK doesn't get the deal it needs from the EU ... the EU is under no obligation to be nice in the negotiations, and it's in their interests to attract companies away from the LSE to the Frankfurt Exchange for example then there's Trump, who will maximise any difficulty the UK faces with Brexit to strengthen his bargaining power and use it to make the Dollar strong again ... Trump holding hands with Farage and promoting Brexit wasn't because he thought it was right for the UK, but because it was right for the US as it weakens both the UK and the EU in one go ... tough times lie ahead, that's for sure, and we really are at the mercy of the EU, regardless of all the posturing about how "the EU needs us" ... break the financial sector and you break the UK economy, and I can guarantee you that right now top European economic minds will be looking at exactly how they can move the LSE's big hitters onto a European exchange the referendum was wrong in that it became an emotional vote, not a logical one ... also, for such a major decision to be taken, the "majority" should have been set at higher level, i.e. that at least 48% of the VOTING population needs to have said so, not the 37% that voted leave ... those who didn't vote for whatever reason need to take their share of responsibility, because their apathy doesn't let them off the hook just saying .........
