Expected to lose and lose badly today. Pleased we got the win, we now need to follow it up at Leeds and more importantly at home.
I arent the biggest fan of NP but i never expect us to get beaten heavily especially away from home. He sets a team up too well. Plus he has changed his mindset if the preseason and Blackpool game are anything to go by. Cant comment on the Macc defeat but with a midfield of Mckenna and harper i didnt expect good things. The drinks are flowing now. The world is a better place when you win
This has always confused me, if we end up with 80 points and win promotion, what does it matter if more are from away games than home games? How does that make a difference in the slightest? Yet again you will ignore this, as usual you your views can't be backed up by anything logical or factual.
Because we're not likely to get 80 points if we're not winning at home. Thought that was fairly obvious tbh.
I agree with that, but why MORE importantly, they are both equally as important. Winning at Leeds away is just as important as winning at home to Crystal Palace? Or do we get 6 points for beating Palace.....
A good assessment, one swallow doesn't make a summer and all that. I didn't expect a defeat today, but knew there was a possibility of it given their result at Brizzle last week. I fancy us to get something at Leeds if we play like we did today but unless we get something for the home games against Palace and Reading we'll be back to square one more or less. From those 2 home games 4 points would be a good return imo. Let's hope today has been the start to a good season. UTT
Well our away forms generally good, our home generally terrible. So it's more important win at home because that's what's letting us down. A lot. I'm not saying we don't need to win at Leeds. Though I suspect you already knew that.
Im just waiting for Theo's match report and how he can twist it so TC was poor as usual and Mckenna is god and Harper should have played!!
i thought today was a very good away performance....fairly soild and cautious, without being too negative.... played some nice stuff at times, still a little light in the final 3rd at times, but an excellently taken goal...looking forward to tuesday night now..
Brilliant goal by Fryatt, he made it and finished it himself. 467 City in attendance, but we made twice as much noise as 18,000 Tractors. Nigel played this one right, good set up, some decent football and other than a rather quiet Evans everyone played their part, we deserved the win. Worth the 7/8 hour drive, some very good songs, particularly going through our back catalogue, Waggy, Hawley, Francis, Myhill, Mouyokolo, Geo, Allsopp all getting a mention(among others).
great photo.. gives new meaning to the term "back-seat drivers".. note the horse has its head down thinking "hope my mates don't see this, I'll be a laughing stock".. even the dogs hanging back wondering if he should disappear quietly into a side street in order not to lose street cred..
