Derby are quite obviously the worst. I enjoyed that though as they beat us on pens in the play offs the year before. As Sky says, last years Villa team were ****ing atrocious. And yeah, Sunderlands 15 point team too! I swear one of their wins that year was against Liverpool
They've been a big bogey side of ours since we came back up as well tbh. Bar the 8-0 of course Forever grateful of that... that Vergini og
Bolton, under Big Sam, was the dullest team I ever saw play. I was relieved when they were relegated.
You're undeniable correct, but the fixture selection gave them a really **** start. Their first four away games were Man City, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal. They lost all four, conceding 16 goals and scoring none. Absolutely killed any confidence they may have got from their promotion campaign and they picked up a load of injuries, too. It's got to be one of the worst seasons that anyone's ever had, though. They crashed out of the cups early too, only managing a single win in them. Beat Sheffield Wednesday after a replay in the FA Cup 3rd round, then lost to Preston, while Blackpool beat them in the League Cup. Must have been bloody depressing, honestly!
I suspect that he doesn't share that sentiment! We've had more wins this week than they managed all season. ****ing nightmare.
We were in the middle of a terrible start to the season (think it was the season Jol had been undermined and was eventually sacked) ... Derby at home was our first victory. Man City were a **** team back in 2007...they didnt whore themselves out until the following year ... So it was not that bad a start tbf. What made it funny was their only win was in their 6th ot 7th match and 4 of their 11 points came from Newcastle.
It was only our third game, RCL! Our other home game was a loss to Everton, admittedly. City finished 9th, so they weren't the current side, by any means, but they weren't ****. It would be a real ****er of a start now, though. Has any other side ever been responsible for more than a third of someone else's points? Seems a lot! Just looked at Sunderland's 15 and 19 point seasons and it didn't happen in them.
Derby , they brought in about 8 new players , I think , in January and never won another game .... harsh .
