I'd say Rise Hall was the best venue, I'd have booked it for my daughters wedding last year, but she'd always wanted to get married in the church opposite our house and Cave to Rise was too much faffing about (it was also too small for all the extra people she wanted to invite for the night do). I went to look at the South Cave vineyard, it's okay for a smallish do, particularly if you're a bit of a hippy type (it also helps if all of your friends happen to own a 4x4, the site isn't easy to access). The personalised wine is quite a nice touch.
I'm looking for this mystical beer tap. They said it's right next to the Unicorn at the bottom of the rainbow.
Went to a wedding at Saltmarshe hall last year, pretty nice place and was outdoors too. Just a complete bastard to get to.
Not sure where that is. This place is called Little Wold Vineyard. It's just off Beverley Rd, near the bend in the road where the phone masts are. Should be a cracking reception !!
They say there is typically an inverse relation to how long a marriage lasts and how much is spent on the wedding day. Save yourself the money for something more useful like building a life together. The Journal always seems to be full of wedding pics from Tickton, Cave castle and Lazaats. There was one from the Hallmark in Ferriby last month. My wedding was in a Town Hall in the Czech Republic near the German and Polish borders. Most expensive bit was translating costs. All in about £2k including reception in the local pub costing £200 for 14 people.
Allerton Castle was my favourite venue when I was getting dragged around kicking and screaming various wedding venues. The Mrs wanted Rudding Park - She won. If I had the chance again I would just have cleared off somewhere- my preference rather than the beach would be the Alps. Everything associated with getting married has an absolutely ridiculous price tag. Then you've got all the bollocks around political table planning etc - complete nonsense.
It is overly-costly. My brother & sister in law were looking at venues, in the end they went to Lake Garda. Wedding in a castle, photos, reception, photographer, Private boat trip & the night do came to £8k. He said the cheapest similar over here was coming to over £20k. It was a good week.
I dont suppose you will consider this place but I'm going there in June for a wedding https://www.aspinallfoundation.org/port-lympne/short-breaks/port-lympne-hotel/ The night before we are staying in a tree house https://www.aspinallfoundation.org/port-lympne/short-breaks/treehouse-hotel/ After the wedding we will do a tour of the zoo http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/d.../articles/British-safaris-a-night-at-the-zoo/
Married in a registry office and it worked for me. Been married for 49 years. Learned a new word at the ceremony- consanguinity.
How far you willing to travel? I went to one at Danby Castle in north yorks moors, outstanding venue.
