I do think we are swapping leagues this season however unless we get serious investment over the summer (this isn't guaranteed) we will probably be swapping again the following season.

Haha I know mate. I guess you have to chuck the bait in sometimes. All part of the rivalry. I will say, if they keep the core of their players, they will waltz the league. It's pretty poor and the main challenge is the frequency of fixtures. Not the talent. We have a crap squad but we are finding the league relatively easy. In fact we are getting away with being utter ****!

I think there's a good chance we'd go back down (at best 50-50, perhaps worse) but not sure if Sunderland would come straight back. I think we had a better team (not by much but a little), more sale-able assets, our owner sanctioned splashing the cash and I think Rafa is a better manager than Moyes.

I suspect Sunderland are more analogous with Aston Villa, they sunk like a stone but got in a seasoned manager who is now getting them ready to push for promotion next year. Over time Sunderland and Newcastle will end up both in the top flight but currently neither convincingly deserve to be there, I hope your youngsters get a run out this season and next, it could be the one big positive to come out of this.

Not been home. Been out at parents all day then straight to a gig tonight!! Just back in now. Nowt for me to say about the decision. Most neutrals think it was a yellow at most and the contest ended as soon as Craig paws on sent him off (same ref who didn't even book Rojo for a two footer 30earlier in the season iirc)

Thought Cattermole and Ndong both had good games for us. Ndong looked a better player than Pogba today!! That lad just needs the season to be over. Bet he's class next year though.

Wasn't disappointed with the performance. I clapped them off the field. Zlatan is immense mind. In every sense. He's got everything

I couldn't give a **** what you're talking about. Don't even know who you are. Take your pathetic 140 posts and toddle off to the Bigg Market and suckle on the armpit of one of those 20 stone slags Newcastle is so fond of.

I desperately hope you mean the Wear-Tees Derby but I wouldn't be surprised. If Rafa doesn't get what he needs for next season then it's curtains before it even begins for us. I guess it's hard to predict (im just a negative bastard) as we don't know who our respective teams will consist of come September 1st. In all honesty, I'm losing interest in football (a bit like yourself) and I don't want non NUFC matches quite so often. Whatever happens will happen. Like most people my personal and professional life has kicked on and that's my main focus whereas before it was football.

I don't even recognise the other so called derby mate. It's going to take you an obscene amount of money just to win the relegation fight. Fro what I've heard you're bang average in a poor league. We on the other could be in the Championship for a few years to come. :(

Bang average would be an overstatement. Granted there have been times where we have swept teams aside but for months, we have been woeful. Without serious investment we will definitely go down. We have a championship level squad and are miles behind even the likes of Bournemouth and Burnley.

When was the last time the Derby was contested in the 2nd tier?? Think I'll have a Google at that ha

91/92 season. We finished 18th, you finished 20th, the next season you won the league and got promoted while we avoided relegation by a point.
