I agree it is sad to see the O's going out of the league. Over the years, there has been nothing to dislike about Leyton Orient, a lovely football club. I guess this decline all started when they lost the play off final against Rotherham a few years ago. Barry Hearn decided he had taken the club as far as he could, so got out. Unfortunately, his choice of who he sold the club to was seriously flawed. That the new owner passed the Football Leagues' due diligence policy, beggars belief.
Dropping out of League One with a squad of players who were signed for a tilt at promotion to the Championship is the killer. It means having to overhaul the squad with no money. Any manager would struggle to get a team of strangers to hit it off straightaway when you can't afford to bring in any of the better players at that level. It happened to Tranmere too.
Justin Rose on an incredible charge at The Masters. 5 birdies in last 7 holes to finish at 6 under and in the lead
I'm amazed more isn't being made of ex-Barca youngster Sandro Ramirez opening the scoring ...or, knowing how our Hack's Guild operates, why there aren't a dozen articles saying he made a HUGE mistake not signing him last summer
There's still the story of McIlroy shooting a 62 or whatever to be told They won't give up on him until he's on the 18th ten shots off the lead. Rose has been a better bet at Majors in the past couple of years. It will be worthing watching tonight to see if he can win it.
Rose has repeatedly been overlooked by British media, especially the BBC, despite being one of the most consistent performers in World golf for the past 5/6 years. US Open winner? Olympic champion? Seems to matter not..... Will be cheering him on tonight - fully deserves a Green Jacket!
A very interesting Press Pass on TalkSport this evening. TomCollomosse and Darren Lewis were on.Collomosse's the Standard's Spurs Correspondent. However, Lewis was far more pro-Spurs. Our correspondent had heard that Danny Rose was open to joining Citeh. Lewis asked why Rose had committed to another contract when Citeh's interest was sell known? Lewis said that as Citeh's current performance and prospects weren't better than Spurs and Pep had done nothing to improve Stones or others, Rosy would be staying. A couple of other issues got the same treatment. Lewis was very pro-Spurs. Collomosse the opposite. I have a vague memory that he's Chelsea? I know one of Abramovic's mates owns it and Gideon runs it but **** me, do they have to be so obvious?
Seems that way, though Fowler starting to get his game together - and things can change quickly at Augusta!!
Lots of 67s/68s today. The course is playing quite easily today. The only players going backwards are the ones trying to force the pace (Spieth, for example). Somebody needs 5 birdies on the back nine to challenge the top two - who are now both eight under as I type this. Garcia just missed an easy birdie.
Rose has the impetus slightly going into the back nine and is arguably the steadier competitor - but plenty can happen!!
He's missed two easy birdie chances, but nobody is within range and Garcia is struggling to make par at every hole. But still time for things to change.
