He was awesome for us today. Best player on the pitch Just thought you would all be interested! Good luck for the season
I watched it and he was magnificent. Had Carroll in his pocket all game. It was a game of two halves Liverpool looked like they would run away with it in the first half but well played you come out in the second half and deservedly got a point. Good luck this season. Hope you do well with so many of our old boys
Wes and john were fantastic members of the squad and its about time they got some regular 1st team action.
Cheers fella. A lot of eyebrows were raised when we signed him, would he fancy it after all he achieved with Man U? If today is anything to go by he will be the signing of the summer! Always had a soft spot for Man U especially after denying Newcastle the title during the Kegan years! Good luck for the season
Funny, i've always had a soft spot for sunderland good luck from me aswell and i'll hope to see more goals like that one seb scored today (not at old trafford, mind)
I think O'Shea will actually turn out to be the better signing. Though Brown probably has a lot to prove. People think he could be finished and was never given a proper starting run at United unless people were injured. Was always a top player for us though and was one of my favourite players being a local lad. I have always maintained that Brown was better than Carragher and Liverpool fans couldn't understand when Brown was chosen ahead of him for England. Ferguson always said he was the best natural defender in this country and he doesn't get much wrong.
I though Liverpool were the better team first half hour and could have been 3 up to be fair. But Sunderland were outstanding for the last hour and deserved something out of the game. Sunderland looked the most likely to win it in the last 20 mins IMO
Brown had a good game i agree. From a Liverpool fans perspective - We should of wrapped it up in the first half, but didn't take our chances. Sunderland should of been down to 10 men, and to be fair Carragher got a bit lucky too. Sunderland came out and played better in the second half and to be fair either team could of nicked it towards the end. Not the greatest start from us - but a draw was a fair result. Well done Sunderland
It's Sunderland, Everton, Wigan and Fulham that have a soft spot in my otherwise heart of ice. Sunderland because of Steve Bruce, Everton because they have a few of our ex players doing really well for them which is great to see (nothing to do with their neighbours of course!) and the latter two, godknows why I just do! Good to hear Wesley had a good game, hope he doesn't when we come up against him (actually wouldn't bregrudge him a good performance, just a crap one from the rest of the team!).
he was years ago and had more potential. Injuries wrecked him and IMO he went from being very underrated (I wanted him to start for England a t times) to overrated (simply because he played for United) And of course your lot have a soft spot for Sunderland, half the team and manager are exmanyoo!
Since Wes got his injury in 2008 he's still shown quality but been a bit inconsistent. He had games like that for Utd when called upon, but then a couple of weeks later he'd be terrible. Not sure if it's a case of fundamental inconsistency, not playing enough games, or just that some weeks his knees will play up. Hopefully he can keep some consistency for you guys if he gets a good run at CB. P.S. Just seen Larsson's goal on MOTD and it was a cracker!
WEs brown lol could have been a great player if it wasnt for hsi clumsiness and skill at scoring own goals
I personally don't think he was ever rated by anybody outside of United. Even when picked for England. The only thing that went against him was his injuries and the fact players like Ferdinand, Vidic and Stam have all been in front of him in the pecking order in the past. Do you think Brown could do a job for Liverpool?
yeah he had a good game, but did give away the free kick which lead to the goal, still I think sunderland fans would take a draw from anfield anyday
I think Suarez "won" that free kick more than Brown giving it away, but the ref was giving him a lot of decisions, like when Ferdinand (who I don't really rate at all) was behind him as he dropped to his knees to chest the ball and he gave a free kick to Liverpool and Ferdinand wasn't even close to touching him.
