If that's the case then we definitely have the wrong buyers. Other than those playing silly forum games, surely this would be bad news for the Club. I thought this "Richard Murray has always had the Club's best interest's at heart" nonsense had been put to bed by now.
Yes. Over £7m. But it's not just a matter of money with Murray. As some of his recent ex colleagues on the board - all of whom have fallen out with him have stated, Murray thinks he IS Charlton.
Ask yourself how many of the Board from when Murray was chairman are still on speaking terms with him.
If Murray is Charlton then... Murray is... stands 2/3 empty. Murray is... life long fans boycotting. Murray is... a relegation fight in league one on a top 6 budget. Murray is... shambolic performances on the pitch. Murray is... the appauling attitude of some of these professional players, like Novak and Johnson insulting our fans. Murray is... spanking a fortune on agents fees for utter dross. Murray is... a hierarchy at war with its own fans. Murray is... poor management appointment, after poor management appointment. Murray is... a complete and utter waste of space. It is time for him to pack his desk, and bow out with as much dignity he can muster - which judging by the way he has cosied up to the regime isn't much. He isn't the solution and hasn't been for a long long time. His ego is a massive part of the problem.
@Crack Addick Murray squandered the last of his dignity when he threw his lot in with Duchatelet & Meire. And the last crumb of his credibility went when he told fans that Karel Fraeye was the right man for the job.
He promised his daughter that the last £10m he invested wasn't going to be wasted and he would get it back.... did he explain to her the return of the money would be at the expense of CAFC fans respect and his dignity in being forced to work/support the filth who are currently running our once great club.
Comment on Saturday's meeting with Meire from CAST's Rich Pemberton. "She said she is still here because she wanted to put it right. What was missing though was any attempt to create a narrative over what she was actually going to do different. British manager & British players was an acceptance from her that it hadn't worked out, and "around a million" would be made available for new players in the summer (). Apart from accepting responsibility, it was really the same old naive comments from her. I came out with no greater confidence that they have got a clue what to do than before".
I can't believe she had the audacity to say a million will be spent on the team this summer. And once again she has revealed her hand of cards to selling clubs. She really is an idiot.
So January we didn't spend because we feared clubs would rip us off, and now we are told less than 10% will actually be available. Lets see where we are next January and go from there.
I am sure agents will have noted her comment about the £1m summer transfer budget with a mixture of incredulity & hilarity.
Based on previous years under the regime, about 60% of it. The Lookman money is apparently being spent on upgrading Sparrows Lane
so what happened to the £2.8m we supposedly bid for 3 players in january?? has that vanished down rolands trousers aswell? £1m? that's rubbish. certain sirs could build you a team that finish in the top half of the championship for just double that.
