Now that we're almost safe surely the takeover can proceed apace, Gobbo and Meire dragged kicking and screaming out the door. Out of respect for past service Murray will be escorted to the exit.

 

From what was said at the SMT meeting today it sounds as if a takeover is still far far away

If you are selling, you don't want to trumpet it. It just reeks of desperation. I claim no inside info, but I imagine it's common practice to keep schtum until the papers are signed and the i's are all dotted.

Update on the takeover from "Combover Rick" in the VOTV today

- Ricky has been told by "multiple sources" that a takeover is happenimg

- his source is one of the 7 ex Directors who have a charge on the club, & have to be consulted

- legendary bad smell Richard Murray is - guess what - "seeking a role" within the Board of the new owner

Best of all- Colin was right that a lawyer was indeed at the Valley, locked in a room examining papers. Only it had nothing to do with the takeover, but with historic sex allegations against the club

Hey, that news is just the best. Richard Murray will be on the new board to look out for the best interests of the club. His qualifications after the last three years would be?
1. Human shield for Katrien to distribute her lies.
2. Toadying up to the current regime despite conclusive evidence they ran the club as a player farm to serve the interests of Standard Liege
3. Blocked previous potential investors because of a purely personal problem with Varney
4. Previously hired the unqualifed Dowie in another personal spite with the Palace chairman.
5. Do we neef more proof?

David White knows him well, & says he will never let go at Charlton regardless of whether it is Pol Pot or Glikstein back in charge, because his ego needs the Charlton association.

Excellent poll on not606 Twitter now - vast majority of Charlton fans seem to think the takeover is bollox.
