****ing hell. What a vile first half. Our press is non-existent without Firmino and Lallana. Different team altogether after the subs but still needed Migs to save the day. Gini is lethal in front of goal - his own that is. Anyway, a hard fought win that we really needed - though I need a nerve transplant.
Proof that we need greater depth next season, Couple of players injured, others rested and the team looks ****e. Too early for Woodburn to be starting league games. Cup games and the last 10mins of games were already winning in future.
Huge win for our confidence going into to the final few weeks - lovely bit of pressure on Arsenal & Utd too
Mignolet MOM. Id be tempted to award it to the away fans I was down but seeing them carry the team forward somehow gave me a massive lift. I can only imagine what it did for the players. Beat Westbrom and psychologically, ensures the chasing lot are affected.
Fantastic win. A sign of the character that Klopp has injected into these players. Not a surprise to see some of the usual moaners having a go on here again as usual, then disappearing once we turn it around. No-one ever expects to go to places like Stoke and get an easy 3 points, I dunno why people on here expect us to take the lead within 5 minutes then have a really comfortable, easy game from them for the rest of it? Idiots.
I know I'm generally negative, but I don't expect us to take the lead within 5 minutes. I also don't expect to to serve up such a pathetic half assed performance, its unacceptable.
Im here. Its the business end of season. I know the two went off on brazil duty but they have to play and we should have been 2 down min before they changed it Like i said this morning if you were offered 4 point from last two or to extend 7/9 theres not a man jack that would not take it here imo. Playing awful but have the points in the bag. As long as the wheels dont come off like january...
I'm never pessimistic before a game, I always predict a win - but I always call a game as I've seen it and not just based on the emotional charge of the result. The first half was shocking, there can be no argument. The line-up was a huge mistake, fortunately put right at half time. Though we'd still have lost if it hadn't been for Mignolet.
We can't play well every game though. It was a makeshift, inexperienced team playing away from home against a notoriously tough team.
Coutinho and Firmino weren't a 100% though, its better to bring them on for the second half when Stoke have tired a bit rather than start them and taking them off after 60 minutes when we're drawing/losing, that would put so much of a downer to see our star players going off when we aren't winning, much like Torres going off at Birmingham under Benitez in 2010 when it was still 0-0.
So reality is right now if city utd and arsenal win all games in hand lfc will be joint 4th and in cl on gd. 6 games to go.... min 4 wins?
Although I always say I want entertaining football, at this stage of the season I'll take the points any way we can get them. I still think it's pretty simple though - the better you play, the more points you win.
we are crawling up there. If we can take 8 points from next 4 games I think it'd be pretty good. thenthe last two games are what will tip us over
Utd are draw specialists. All wumming aside, it'd be a surprise if they win all three games in hand. We might need to help them out further by dropping a few more down the pan. Ok, maybe just a little wum.
city have one. that coudl put them 3rd. Arsenal were out of it but they could go on a run Utd's fixtures look awful yes but we will see. We need to finish ahead of two of these sides so... well need to keep winning. I honeslty cannot see us winning v west brom through
