I wished you'd kept quiet about Lord Windermere I'm all over it for the same reasons stated.
    Good luck.

I'll be gutted if Lord Windermere wins as he was 5th on my list. Dismissed him based on his last run in this race where he showed no appetite for the race. Was only going to back 3 and have stretched to 4. Can't back any fooking more. <laugh>

Great days racing today on good ground, and that for me is a key point.

No Comment - so lightly raced and gave a good account at Cheltenham given that inexperience. Good ground and sharper track should suit and I think he could be 6lbs or so better than his mark. If he gets the trip then he should go close.

Brio Conti - hacked up last time in the consolidation race and that form looks strong given the thirds good run yesterday. I think he is a 150+ horse and this should suit him perfectly.

Politilogue - if he can go the pace then this might be perfect for him. I can't have Charbel at the price given the nasty fall and the selection has plenty of class form in the book.

Cole Harden - ground is key here and I think he will run them into the ground here. I think he is a cracking horse for this race.

I did a stats analyziation with previous trends etc e.g. all winners ran 10+ chases, all winners had run no more than 48 days before the race etc and all that bullshit and then chopped it down to 13 out of the last 14 criteria, and ended up with 3 - Cause of causes ( who i fancy heavily anyway ) , Lord Windemere ( big chance anyway with Aspell on board ) and The Last Samurai ( probably the best GN horse in the race just a heavy weight ) before i chopped it down to 13/14's though there was about 10 on the list. Good luck all!

Beautiful day up here in the northwest, I only live 20miles from Aintree, so we should get good ground at the very least. First time for a while that I havn't managed to get to the meeting but work comes first unfortunately. Here's my picks for the card...

    Zarkandar
    Captain Forez
    Charbel
    Value at Risk
    Supasundae
    VL Rouge, Blaklion
    Curious Carlos

Lets hope for an incident free day, best of luck to you all...<cheers>

ITV showing Carry On At Your Convenience prior to the racing:

"Production at toilet manufacturers WC Boggs is brought to a halt when an over-eager trade union representative calls a strike. However, worker unrest is quickly quelled by a jolly trip to the seaside."

Morning, pilgrims. COCKTAILS AT DAWN for me today. And in the GN the horse of the same name. Boom boom! For my reasoning see the ‘GN – Final picks’ thread. You know it makes sense…

    Good luck, crew.

No Dame Barbara in it though. For me a ‘Carry On’ film just ain’t a ‘Carry On’ film if old boy Sid James isn’t chasing Dame Barbara around whilst she squeals, ‘Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh saucy’ every 30 seconds.

I’ve always thought there was a novel in this forum but perhaps a ‘Carry On’ film would be more appropriate!

Seriously, though be interesting to see the viewing figures for these back-to-back broadcasts. Will the ‘Carry on’ viewers remain to view the racing?!?

"Carry On Not606 Horseracing" - I like it. I'd definitely have Sid James playing Stick. Dear old Ken Williams to play Ron, Charles Hawtrey as Nass I think. Terry Scott as Sir Barney Chuckles and Dame Babs playing our lovely Princess <smooch>
