That's simply not true, we didn't have queues like this when we had over 25,000 fans in the ground in previous seasons, it's the new system that doesn't allow people in quickly enough. If they hadn't changed the system, we wouldn't be having these problems, it's really as simple as that.

You think fans should change their pre-match schedule just to accommodate a poor access system?

The system should be fit for purpose, just as it was before they 'upgraded' it.

"No one criticises our turnstiles. If the FSF says they aren't fit for purpose then we shall remove them. Within 24 hours."

All I am inferring is if anyone wishes to easily avoid any shortcoming's in the system then there is a simple remedy.

It's simply not true that thousands of people turning up within a 5 minute period causes inevetivitable queuing? I don't think it could be more simple to be honest. Lots of people trying to enter at the same time will result in queues it's basic logic/common sense. Unless everybody has their own personal gate so only 1 person can use it thus meaning no queues. Yeah we should have 25,000 gates. Sorted. Used properly the system is no slower than handing a ticket over to a human who then presses a button. If you don't like queuing get there 5 minutes earlier. I often get there at the queue heavy time, but I'm not going to complain about it as it's my fault. I almost always get in by kick off though and that's all that matters as I have no need for the councourse.

Does this also apply to any other leisure industry?

Why on God's green earth would anyone want to get to a football ground long before the game starts? What else is there to be there for?

I've never had a real problem, but have noticed queues are longer.

I have however been stuck behind people trying to scan print at home tickets because the bar codes appear to be different sizes. This could be their own printer settings or even down to the quality of the print ie laser v ink jet and perhaps smudging.

Another solution might be to tweak the timing between WAIT and SCAN by a few seconds.

I'm usually at the ground 20-30 minutes before kickoff but can see the potential for bottlenecks if people get there closer to kickoff, which is sometimes unavoidable, especially on a night match.

In all, it could be improved.

There's thousands of people queuing every time I arrive and I don't arrive five minutes before kick off, you're working on the flawed assumption that everyone arrives just before kick off, you're buying the SMC's excuse and it's an excuse, not a reason.

People haven't suddenly all started arriving late, they're arriving at the same time they always arrived, what's changed is the system they have to use to get in, it's simply too slow.

You're missing the point - there wasn't a problem until Allam fixed it - now there is

It's a personal choice as things stand at the moment, arrive in good time and watch the full game or (like my mate), arrive last minute and stand in a queue listening to the game from outside the ground for a while.

Sounds familiar, much like " the company we used for the rigged name change vote is highly reputable in the industry and we'll versed in such matters. They were even involved in the ITV viewers prize competitions scandal. Rest assured ,as promised, the full results of the name change vote will be released shortly, perhaps even within 24 hours."

Nope I'm working on first hand experience of arriving at games at different times. Not basing it on the SMC 'excuses' or the Anti-Allam 'everything is terrible' mindset.

Those who say it is the lag between each scan have it right.
One problem that I had to sort out was the the queue at the North Stand turnstyles. The stewards could not stop people from joining the queue at the fornt rather than the back. The barriers and stewards are placed so that the queue runs north to south, but just as many come from the south. They simply were turning as they got to the barrier and not going to the end of the queue, it was getting heated.
I had to ask the police to line up alongside the queue to prevent it all kicking off.
One police sargent got a little bit stroppy with me, he told me he doesnt take orders from people like me, so I walked off and came back with an inspector. I pointed out the issue and said that I believed that there would be a breach of the peace if police did not prevent the queue jumping.
I use this form of words as part of my work and no police officer can in reality ignore them, if it looks like there could be an issue they must prevent it.
Sad really when a no mark like me has to step in.
The queue virtually disappeared, it flowed better and I believe that if the barriers had been extended further along, there would not have been much of a queue.

Well you've come to the wrong conclusion either way. The stadium was built to accommodate 25,000 fans turning up and for over a decade it was capable of doing exactly that, now it isn't and that's down to the system, not the fans.

The SMC have been told that the system isn't working and they need to remedy it, sadly they seem to be putting more effort into coming up with excuses than they are with sorting the problem, but hopefully the SAG will not allow that to continue.

Hull FC are also suffering with the same sort of problems and there's only half the amount of people there, it's ridiculous.

Maybe fans should be allocated an entry time when they purchase their tickets. Starting at 1pm or something.

    That's sarcasm, by the way.

I thought they reduced the time they opened the gates before kick off.
