    Noted, heights from Wikipedia.
And Matt Targett too. I think he's 6'0". Tall bleeder for an LB. Josh Sims went from 2 feet nuthin' to about 5'9" in 5 minutes [or several seasons in the Academy, whichever is more accurate], I think. Young Hesketh is another shrimp. ;)

Caceres for Stephens other than that team kind of picks itself at the minute presuming injuries stay the same. Tough match though

Merson says 2-0 WBA. As usual no real reason just that WBA won't want the season to fizzle out. I'm pretty sure that Saints don't want the season to fizzle out either. :emoticon-0112-wonde

Lawro has us to lose 2-1.

Luckily it's not up to him, his season predictions have us in the relegation zone currently!

Indeed. I don't mind a pundit predicting Saints to lose a game, but FFS, at least properly explain why and earn the money you're being paid, Merson.

Did you know that Lawro has us in 17th position in his prediction league table, last time I looked recently.? He doesn't learn either.

Merson can fizzle out if he likes though.

I also worry about set pieces for this one with our distinct lack of height in the team, they will be targetting that for sure.

If Davis is fit then Pierre in alongside him please, if not wouldn't mind seeing Stephens get a go at DM.

What's the news on Gabby? And likelihood on Davis?

Why is it too soon Fran? He clearly has leadership qualities, so with a couple of senior players absent, it's a good opportunity for him..... if Claude things he's the man.

I think people like Bertrand will Probably Be above him, but looking at JWP in isolation, I don't see why it would be too soon. It's not just the oldies who can lead :p

Would love to see JWP as skipper. He's definitely got the ability.

If you're good enough etc. It was interesting to hear the views of Danny Murphy and Ian Wright on JWP the other night. I know people say pundits are all useless, but both of these guys have been there and done it. I noticed that Murphy referred to "seeing him live" a few times and compared JWP to Beckham. Part of me thought this was high praise from someone who'd been a hard working midfielder capable of chipping in with goals. Another part thought he was simply ensuring that Liverpool had JWP on the radar!
