Rats were probably not to blame despite most history books claiming they were. They now believe the blamed Norwegian black Rat population was never high enough to cause the spread and other rat species weren't in large enough numbers.

Fleas will bite many species including humans and birds if they can't find their preferred prey. Rats probably take the blame more often than not because they're a creature people generally don't like.

Fleas probably spread human to human or via livestock.

probably not really but its a nice myth that tied volcanic activity to rising planet temperatures that led to the rise of the *****l empire and the black death.

I would say that bodily fluid contract whether by flea or by handling bodies or just no sanitation was the prime cause.

dysentery and cholera probbly killed just as many back then due to poor hygiene and polluted water.

So, Verizon, who recently bought Yahoo, have decided they are going to rename Yahoo "Oath".

Apparently, the Yahoo name is so toxic, they had to change it.

Not only is Oath a terrible name (and everyone is going to call it Oaf) but just think.

Yahoo UK will now be "Oath UK". <whistle>

Overnight I became less Swedish. This is upsetting for me. I feel like a part of me died. I can no longer listen to ABBA or shop at Ikea. My dark hair makes more sense though.

I got an email from Family tree finder saying they have updated their software to show more accurately my ancestry.

What's strange though is that based on what I know about my family it was accurate before (besides the strangley high Scandinavian DNA) now it looks completely wrong.

It still thinks I'm 8% Scandinavian... Which could make sense since most Brits have up to 10% Scando ancestry. (Although I only have one English parent so 8% would br pretty high). It thinks I'm only 7% British though... <laugh>.

I know I should be about 25% Eastern European but it thinks I'm only 6%. (It had this right before, now it's wrong).

It also says I'm 5% Turkish... And about 3/4 Central/Western European.

I think the test is a loaf of crap... It was pretty accurate the first time only giving me a lot of Scando DNA when it should have been British. Since they redid their calculations though it seems way off.

It's crap. Now I'm off for a Kebab and some strong, dark twice boiled coffee.

Yeah their original findings was pretty accurate based on what I know about my family. Their updated findings look completely wrong.

Still, I shall embrace my new found Turkish identity.
