Morning all from a sunny spot of France. Yesterday I discovered that I had received the unwelcome visit to my fields of a flock of sheep that had escaped from somewhere. Apart from hoof marks and some plant damage there were a lot of droppings showing they had investigated the whole area. It was a tedious job collecting them, but they are now in the compost bin, so maybe some good will come from it.

Bloody tax time - thanks for reminding me.
About six years ago I discovered that I could claim certain expenses as a teacher, so whacked a claim in for the previous five years. It was granted, but every year since then I've received an underpayment notice. Why didn't I just stay under the radar...

    Morning all

Second consecutive lovely spring morning here. Took advantage yesterday and had a day in Selborne, visiting the house and garden of Gilbert White. His book 'The Natural History of Selborne' has never been out of print since 1789...only the Bible can match that I believe! A good pub lunch and a walk up the zig zag path to the top of the hangers (steep wooded hillsides in this part of the world) in Spring sunshine in the afternoon. A good to be alive day!

The French know how to treat their politicians who tell fibs. Mr. Fillon tried to make light of it by saying "at least is was French flour."

    1. He'll probably get nicknamed Mr Filo and be told to 'choux' away after that.

Morning all from a sunny rural France. The French beans have sprouted in their ice cream tubs, so I will have to get them into the ground now. I also need to sow some peas shortly, and intend to try them in a piece of gutter to prevent the mice and voles getting at them from below. Once the peas appear you slide the whole length into a similar sized trench. Sounds simple, but we will see.

Not having much luck this season. León, my team here are last in the league and drawing 0-0 at the moment.

They can´t get a luck break but need one...

    Should this be captioned:
"Trusted politician denies all knowledge of drug misuse."?

Good morning all from a sunny Jersey. I know that this should probably be on the Other Sports thread, but this weekend at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham, the Elite Ice Hockey League season has its conclusion with the play-offs. In yesterday's semi-finals, Cardiff Devils beat Dundee Stars 4-2 after going 2 behind (sound familiar?) and were 2-1 down with 6 minutes to go. The final is this afternoon against the Sheffield Steelers who managed to shut-out the Belfast Giants yesterday and will want revenge for the Challenge Cup final, which the Devils won 3-2.
