It's clear that Wenger expected Arsenal's fortunes to pick up when he originally stated to the press that he would announce his decision on his future "very soon." But things haven't got any better, so he has clearly put off making any decision, at all. There is still time for Arsenal to put in a sprint and finish in the top 4, but you really do get the impression that the players don't want to go that extra yard for him. If Arsenal do not get top 4, I cannot see how he can possibly expect to keep his job. You've got Pixie, over on the Arsenal board, telling everyone that Wenger should stay another year in order to "sort out Wenger's successor!" Unbelievable! What other top flight manager can **** up to the degree that Wenger has, and not get the sack? Pixie's worried that AFC will panic and appoint someone like Hodgson or Roy Keane, but I don't see how either of those two could do any worse than Wenger. At least Keane would put a rocket up the players' arses!
I can confirm there's no further news since Matth's post. And no further news since I typed that sentence.
