Liverpool v Sunderland Joint Match Thread

Good game so far. We are on top, but Sunderland are playing good football when they want to and great delivery by larsson towards the end of the half, unlucky to not get a goal there. Henderson is doing ok for me, but I would rather play Kuyt out there, bit more of a goal threat. I still think Richardson should have been sent off though for the penalty.

 

Sorry but I think for vast periods you were overrun.

 

I think were playing quite well, Catts is having a really good game, we look dodgy at the back though. I would like to see Wickham on the left with 20 to go and Gardener in the middle. Not much we can do at LB as there is no-one maybe Colback?, Bardo is having a good game at RB so I don't want him moved. We need Oshea fit to play there.

 

Just goes to show how crap Sunderland really are

 

Saurez took a bad touch taking him away from goal so I think he was pleased to get the touch and take the penalty, I think a yellow was the right call, I think the Carragher tackle was more of a red than Richardson's if I'm honest.

 

We're apparently being told how we're being outplayed yet half possession is 51:49% and we've had 7 shots (3 on Target) to Liverpool's 4 (2). Stats might not tell the entire story but we can't have been outplayed that much

 

Good half for Liverpool. Henderson is settling, Downing is looking top notch and Adam is also playing well.

Carroll's goal should of stood if it was called back for the foul (Unless it was for offside?).

Suarez looking good, he missed the penalty but running all over the place. Enrique is settling but you can tell his just. Passing is nice and sharp from Liverpool, loving it.


Overall a good first half and hopefully we can finish it with the 3 points.

 

I'm suprised Henderson is playing rather than Kuyt. Wouldn't have thought Kenny would have thrown all the new players in on the first game, but sounds like it's going ok so far. Could do with a couple more to ease the nerves though. Would be nice for Carroll to get on the scoresheet and get his season off to a flyer!

 

What was the disallowed Carroll goal like?
