You can only beat whats in front of you. it's a shame you spuds couldn't do it last year when all the big clubs were on a down and let plucky leicester beat you to it! Yeah, i bet most managers wish he had his luck . You better hope Pochy gets lucky soon else he will be known as a poor mans klopp.
lol... just spewing facts . Trying to educate the masses but i should have known better seeing this is the PL board. I'm going back to Banters and sly digs I don't need to defend mourinho, facts speak for themselves. He isn't even managing chelsea anymore. I will say that he has lost his magic in the past few years and that the way he's managing has alienated everyone. He needs to evolve rather than stick to what he's been doing as the players of today are pampered. Also his destructive defensive style doesn't seem to work as well as it has in the past as teams have become better tactically and you can't draw your way to trophies.
Mourinho nowadays only goes to clubs that have huge wallets. Clubs that are prepared to spend, but expect pretty much instant success in return. Consequently, he tends to ignore youth and go for the established ( expensive) stars. Expect him and Utd to spend big in the summer. He's got one more season to prove something, imo, or else he could go the way of LVG.
The problem we have is having to fight on all fronts, including being the only viable challenger to Chelsea for the domestic title, despite the fact that we are only the 5th or 6th richest club in the division. Which one do we go for? We cannot go for everything. Personally, I'd rather that we consolidate our position in our domestic league before dreaming about beating the big boys in Europe. Leicester have gone for that dream, and look what that did to their domestic form!
you didn't have that issue last season though as poch throws cups pretty much as quick as he can. My reference was with respect to the PL last season. At the moment poch is a poor mans klopp. Both want to build a team at a club who aren't going out to spend spend spend but at the moment, only one has trophies to his name
Sorry, but how can anyone but the likes of Skiddy take you seriously if you are going to come out with bollocks like that? If anything, Klopp is a poor man's Poch. Whom is in who's shadow for the second season running? And 'Pool have been in Spurs' shadow since before the Benitez days. Spurs have even nicked players that 'Pool tried to sign, since the players would rather come to Spurs; and that was before Poch came to our club. It is a ridiculous thing to say that Poch is a poor man's Klopp!
I'd disagree on that one. IMO, Klopp has got the balance of his team wrong, his defense is ****e. Plus, without Mane they look pretty average. Plus his budget is far bigger than ours.
1. he's already smashed it at Dortmund on a relative budget to Munich. 2. This year, Klopps netspend is negative whereas poch is +20 odd million. Last year when he joined he didn't spend anything in Jan. 3. Tactically their different, but both want to build a team and have a project, not spend spend spend which is where that comparisson is. Yes Spurs are currently above pool, but 1 summer does not make a swallow unless we are saying Ranieri and Leicester are far bigger than Spurs. Klopp has more trophies than Pochy that is what has made him MORE successful. If Pochy wins a big one anywhere, then i will reconsider, until then poor mans klippity klopp
It's true that he currently has a better net spend, but that was only achieved by unloading a load of overpriced dross bought previously - which was pretty much a no-brainer! The fact remains that he has a far bigger budget than ours.
2 matches from the final isn't close? and Robben, (who Mourinho didn't seem to think that much of) Cech and Drogba were transfers identified by Ranieri, not Mourinho. Carvalho and Ferreira came from Porto, but he didn't bring those 2 Portocwith him. As to Bilic, yeah, one of the reasons we did well is because of the way Allardyce organised the defence, which he has taken just over a season to completely ruin. He also had nothing to do with the purchases of the players that turned up in 2015, how could he? he'd only just joined us. Then we had the added atmosphere of 'last season at the Boleyn'. given the same resources, Allardyce would have done better. Now I'm not saying Mourinho is a **** manager, but people like you twist the context of his acheivements to make them seem far better than they actually are. You, like Mourinho seems to have done himself now, have fully bought in to his 'special one' myth.
how did Mourinho do last year when the rest of the EPL got large sums of money to spend? relegation battle wasn't it, until he got fired.
If you go off of the two previous managers for Man U .... Man U 's " Plan B " should have already been in place .
