When Mourinho was shown the door at Chelsea , Grant quietly came in and did an amazing job by doing nothing really , the team relaxed without " Jose " around .

Then again, it seems I've dreamt quite a bit so you could be right.

 

Wenger and Pochettino are much better coaches than Mourinho.

 

As Wenger's record proves all too vividly.

 

Mostly having a go when they were at Chelsea together . His efforts at Man U show how wrong Mourinho was back then . . Mata is playing well on a team now that's not doing great . Mourinho has moved on in the " Blame " department with Man U .

 

I'm talking about coaching and developing players not buying them.

I'd check again.

 

I'd pay to see an Arsene Wenger team, a Mourinho one?, not so much.

He also coached Henry into a top, world class striker.

Henry was a world cup winning international by the time Wenger bought him by the way.

 

Unearthed Anelka at PSG for 500,000 thousand and after helping Arsenal win a double , sold him off two years later for 22 million . Got some good mileage out of Ramsey who he bought from Championship side Cardiff for 5 million .

 

He still bought him from someone else's academy. Ditto Fabregas.

You should have said Ashley Cole, that's far more authentic.

Everyone one of his current first team was bought so to suggest he in some way promotes from within is bollocks.

 

I think he turned Cole from a winger to a back with a stroke of brilliance . Didn't know it was an " Academy " conversation , just developing young players . Your the first to mention Academy . I took Saintsalive's remark about " Buying " as spending big when they were in their prime .. but I could be wrong . Half a million for Anelka was genius .

Luke is certainly not the sharpest tool in the box. Somewhere in there is an excellent player, but frankly, is it worth the effort trying to find out?

 

Maybe he should do his level 2 Maths and English first. Most employers these days expect that as a minimum.

 

Ok forget the "buying" bit, Wenger is still better at spotting young talent and developing them.
Mourinho is a better defensive tactician, which is great if you want to watch uninspiring football (not really the Man Utd way). FWIW, I think that he has been sussed out by a lot of managers in England in the last two years and is less effective at getting results now.
