But didn't Martin play a full game on tuesday. That means he would have played three games in a week if starting today, plus we have a game against Ipswich on tuesday, maybe Adkins will play him then!! Its about the full squad not just the 11 as Mr Adkins has said many times!!
But who do you leave off the bench? That's the problem with this stupid 5-man bench rule. I don't think you can have two defenders on the bench (unless you're happy to go in without a keeper on the bench), and I'd always prefer to have a CB on the bench.
Fox played 120 minutes on Tuesday and has had no time to settle into the squad. He'll be in the team very soon, for now give him time.
Probably a bit too soon, will need time to get settled in, new accomodation and things. Those playing ought to give a bit extra to fight for the place.
I'm really annoyed that Seaborne is playing! He was hopeless on Tuesday and this is exactly the type of game he struggles in! How come some players are untouchable no matter how poorly they play (Seaborne, Harding, Guly etc) yet players who clearly should be starting and play well (Martin, Dickson, Barnard, Richardson etc) don't get picked?!! I'm talking about last season as well before all of the "Barnard isn't fit" and "Richardson is playing" gets thrown at me! Not happy!! COYR though!
Adkins probably played Seaborne Tuesday to get the cobwebs out after his illness. Coming back from illness usually you get 45 /60 mins after being ill especially if not trained much. He played 90 Tuesday as Adkins must of had him in line for today's game. So gave him a good run out. May seem hard but footie is a tough & all the team will be battling this year for their shirts. Do feel sorry for Martin but Adkins makes the decisions.
i like you i agree with all your points except dan harding martin should be playing and seaborne just isn't good enough for this division
I think one of the reasons that Seaborne had such a mare on Tuesday was because he didn't have either Fonte or Jaidi alongside telling him what to do. You have to have someone in central defence who can take charge, and neither Seaborne or Martin could the other night. I think if you look at the number of clean sheets Seaborne and Fonte had together last season you wouldn't be so annoyed this afternoon, although I agree it's a bit unfair on Martin.
Martin was at fault for the goal on Tuesday after the ball had been played in, he didn't pick up the man running in. De Ridder was at fault for not chasing back and allowing a ball in.
Butterfield was at fault for the goal on Tuesday actually... (I suppose he's one of your 'untouchables')
I wasn't there so I can't comment on the goal, but even Adkins has admitted that at the moment, De Ridder's defensive game isn't at the level that it should be (but I'm sure Adkins will put that right over time - Chamberlain's defensive game improved massively as last season went on). Guly on the other hand has a very good defensive side, and therefore I'm more than happy to see him start.
The manager has picked the team i dont see any issues if we win , if we lose then by all means pick apart his decisions !!!
I take it we are underway..? I've been crazily mixing my sports up today, whilst I can. Watched GP125/MotoGP/Moto2 qualifying whilst listening to the England v India Test. Great stuff..!
