Celtic half way to wrapping up the title today....

    Summary
    1. Sinclair double - both goals set up by Roberts
    2. Celtic's McGregor had goal ruled out for offside
    3. No Dembele or Griffiths for Celtic, Kitchen replaces Djoum for Hearts
    4. Celtic need win to clinch Premiership title
    5. Visitors unbeaten domestically in Brendan Rodgers' debut season
    6. One win for Hearts in past seven games
It's not that Celtic have been that good this season (just look at their results in Europe), but they are light-years ahead of the rest of the teams in the league...

5-0 away to the 5th placed team says it all. A one-horse race is over with 8 games to play and before Easter. Can they keep their concentration to finish unbeaten?...

Meanwhile at Swansea it's nothing but zzzzzzzzz's...

Basket-case Coventry lead 1-0 in the Checkatrade Final at Wembley. Can't help being a little jealous of these teams that get to a Wembley final, Oxford there for the second season running...

2-0 to Coventry, with a goal worthy of the occasion by Thomas...

Oxford have pulled a goal back now, but not much time left. I'm following Arsenal vs City...with City 1 - 0 up early on.

Coventry win 2-1 and you wonder how they are so far behind at the bottom of League One...

Man City team selection certainly has goals in it...

I'd like Arsenal to win this, and so Arsene Wenger can stick it to the stupid fans calling for his head. How we wish we had gone from where Arsenal were in the mid 90's to where they are now. 2-1 City now.

Trouble is Wenger set the bar too high in his first 8 years with the Invincibles and 4th place every year isn't good enough, especially with their season ticket prices...

Though they aren't doing it in the classiest way, he won't be forced out by the board despite underperforming for years. Arsenal is the most comfortable club in the world for players and fans are paying a grand and more to see it.

Is it me or did the Boat Race used to be on the same day as the Grand National and the FA Cup semi finals? A Saturday.

It used to be on the same day as the Grand National but was moved a few years back as it got big sponsorship and they wanted it to be a separate 'Blue Riband' event. I think it's a bit of an anachronism having lots of foreign 'students' representing our two elite universities for the pleasure of Hooray Henrys packed along the riverbanks. The Average Joe Public doesn't give a toss about it these days...

Was it ever for the average Joe Public, apart from betting? I went once (hard to ignore it, lived 200 yards from the river in Mortlake at the time) but spent the whole afternoon in the White Hart on the river drinking Young's (having got there early to get a seat, we felt it would be churlish not to occupy them for 8 hours). Other than that I watch it on telly if I remember it's on, like today. It's not usually very exciting. Like today. Though physically brutal.

41% of undergraduates and 63% of postgraduates at Oxford are 'international'. Assume it's similar for Cambridge. So having a few foreigners in their boats is rather modern and up to date. Of course these people all pay more and we all know tertiary education is about profit.

Apologies, should be on the politics thread.

Cambridge won the women's, Oxford the Men. Or perhaps the other way round. Both races won in the first 2 minutes. The Oxford women caught a crab on the start and were eight lengths behind the whole time. Men's race closer, but never in doubt.

If you are referring to the day I spent in the pub, which must have been early 90s, the result momentarily escapes me.
