    Mourinhos interview <laugh>

When ever someone asks him a question after a defeat he looks like you've just asked him if a bear ****s in the woods. A confused baffled look and some noise to patronise you into suggesting you've asked a ridiculously stupid question that makes no sense to anyone.

It used to seem like a good act when when he was at Chelsea, have to wonder if it wasn't an act and he everyone gave him too much credit for protecting the player by taking all the attention.

This is always the danger of expectations isn't it?

Serious question: do you honestly believe this?
You've been ok in a few games, but you've had far too many games where Mourinho's safety-first, unambitious approach has really cost you.
Being unbeaten sounds good, but 2 wins and 3 defeats gets you more points than 5 draws.

You obviously haven't watched us many times this season, we dominate 90% of the games we play but fail to score. The lack of goals is not because we sit back and defend, it's usually because the opposition do and we are not clinical enough to stick the hard won chances away.

If you were a betting man, who would you be putting your money on?
Never say die until it's mathematically impossible, but in reality it's been a race for 2nd place for quite a while now.

Because you only attack with one or two players

When you came to Anfield you were a disgrace, too scared to attack, half your team waiting for your player to lose the ball, which they did because they had no support

And this leads to the only time you get forward in numbers being set pieces, and so you build your team around them with Fellaini instead of Mata etc.

And the spiral of Mourinho/Pulis hoofball gets worse and worse

I fell asleep after 10 mins in most of them.
We dominate almost every game we play, but unless we show some penetration I don't call that playing well.

    They had 75% possession today

They didn't win 75% possession, they were given it

Because West Brow knew they'd do nothing with it

Winning the possession is only important in games where both teams are competing for the possession

Nah, expectations are always high before a season starts, most people who support top 6 (now) teams (including me) are happy just to see their team compete for the title and have good cup runs. We all look at our teams and maybe think we should/could do this and that but reality tells us we will do well to win the league, anything else is a bonus (or consolation).

Not surprised really, watching a team surround another teams area for most of the game is not riveting and when a goal is scored it's usually no more than expected. Much more exciting to watch an end to end game but then you need two balanced teams for that.

Of course we didn't win it, we don't give the ball away that much <doh>

When I watch us play a game where we dominate possession but fail to win, I'm critical of my team. This is an objectivity you seem to lack.
Mourinho is a negative manager, by that I mean that his first priority is to make sure he doesn't lose. Of course he usually has a collection of expensive, quality players at his disposal, so they're bound to go on and win some games. Chelsea were set up to get results in that way, but the Utd way has been very different for a long time.
The two philosophies are fundamentally at odds with each other.

Have you missed/ignored the bits where I said we couldn't score or weren't clinical enough?
How do you make him out to be negative when the ball spends the majority of the game around the opposition box, is it because we don't concede 50 goals per season?
What exactly do other managers do to make them more attack minded when they spend 50% of the game defending?

I've already explained why I think that, and unlike some on here, I don't want to go around in circles.
There's no great credit in spending most of your time in the opposition half if the opposition invite you to do so.
Too many draws, you know it's true. :)

True, very true. It's a well known fact that that most teams prefer to spend the game making last ditch tackles and throwing their bodies in front of shots, much better than trying to take the game to the opponent
